+Muslimah ProudToBe it will have adding and subtracting fractions. It will have slope. You would have to know how to convert percentages to decimals. It will also have one and two variable equations. The most important thing to me would be the word problems. Practice on word problems. I would recommend you study 5 days prior to the test. Take 3 hours a day to study. I also ate brain foods while I studied ( fish, beets, and fruit ) Do some push-ups as well.

I passed my Math exam with 164 after binge-watching all the videos from test prep toolkit and Mometrix Test Preparation. Everything they mention in their videos is *Really Important*. I started studying Maths two night before my exam and spent around 10-12 hours - with managed breaks. Never do an all-nighter. Your brain won't function or be able to remember things you studied during the exam if you do so. One thing I can tell is, Maths has never been my favorite subject. But one method I applied while studying for all the GED exams was browsing through the internet, searching for all the topics that the exam might include and jotting it down on a sheet of paper. Later, you just go through the list and look up for the exact subject on google and learn each topic individually. This gives you a better understanding of the subject and won't be that hard to memorize. A couple of tips I would like to give to people who are really stressed about the exam; - Get enough rest the night before an exam. Around 7-8 hours at a minimum. - Allocate enough time for study and break. Pomodoro technique helps! (google it) - Drink a lot of water while studying. Your brain needs to be constantly hydrated to memorize what you study. - Don't panic and start memorizing everything you come across. Not everything is important to know for the exam. (But watch all of the videos on GED preparation websites, and take a couple of tests right after.) - Search the web for all the topics of an exam & write it down on a sheet of paper. Then after, go through each of the topics individually. (Cramming up & memorizing everything randomly confuses the brain) Good luck everyone! I know you can do it! Have my Social exam tomorrow but look at me, have been procrastinating for eternity. Also, another tip! Never start studying for an exam a night before!! Man, do I suck at following my own tips. Huge thanks to @Mometrix Test Preparation! Don't know whether if I would have passed any of the subjects without their help.

I took the math GED today. My score was 175, college ready + credit. The test was alot more difficult than I expected. There are 5 questions without a calculator, however, there were radicals, and trapezoids. You need to be able to multiply and divide without a calculator. You need to know how to add and subtract polynomials, as well as multiply and divide. You need to know linear equations. You need to know how to have a coordinate and with a formula solve for x. You need to know perimeter, area, volume. My test had a bunch of word questions. Study graphs!!!!!! I had 5 different questions on graphs that were really complicated. So yeah, equations, linear equations, inequalities, quadratic equations, radicals, squares, interpreting graphs, slope intercept form, slope from points, and i think that's it! Good luck!!!!!

***** Where I'm studying at, the school wants you to make a certain score when you take these practice tests they give you to see how well we are progressing to take the test. I really like the school I'm attending, because if they feel as though that you aren't ready to take the GED Test, they will suggest that you wait, do another class, and then take the test whenever you are ready. My Math, unfortunately, has been consistent between 5th-6th Grade level. And where I go to school at, they want you to score at least a high 11, so you can go take the GED Test and pass it with your very first try. I don't go back to class until July 11th, 2016-September 2016. I'm expecting to pass with the Grace of God. He's the one who's gonna see me through.

Well, if its the Lord's will, I will be having video blogs about my journey to college at F.I.T. and how following Christ is the best thing that any of us could do. And that's gonna be done after I get my GED. So, prayefully, I past my GED Test with flying colors. P.S. I'm believing that before this year is out, you will receive your diploma in Jesus's name.

Well, most of it is just word problems which I get stuck on the most, and a lot people tell me "Well find out what they're asking" And I could never figure out what they meant by it, but it actually means, learning the difference between the vocabulary. Quotient > Dividing, Product > Multiplying, Sum > Adding, and Difference is Subtraction. And a lot of the questions are 2 step problems, which also throw me off, and you don't really have time to sit and think because you're timed. The best advice that I can give you is to work on, don't worry about the details and focus on the numbers, and how you need to set up the problem. Sorry if i'm not much help, but i'm not too good at giving advice, haha.

Dropped out of high school after my freshman year cause they where gonna hold me back I passed Jrotc with an A plus and have always wanted to be in the military. I didn’t do anything for 3 years but sit around and play video games or watch movies and occasionally hang out with friends. I constantly asked god what should I do with my life since I had no diploma or GED and and all my life I’ve seen all my friends go get jobs and graduate high school while I was left behind. I’ve always been terrible at math and that’s what seemed to have been the reason I was held back in high school. But one day my brother came to me and told me that he wanted to go into the army and he told me he would pay for my GED tests and help me out with math and we’d both go into the buddy system for the military. I told him I needed time to think and that I would give him my answer tomorrow, I then asked god if this was his way of opening up a window to get my life together and get the job I always dreamed of and I said this has to be an opportunity that I need to take. So I told my brother I would do it! He then wrote out a contract saying that he will pay for all my GED tests and help me study and that I would go into the military and I signed the contract willingly. I’ve now been studying math with my brother for about a month learning each topic individually until i have mastered each one. Since I’ve been studying math I’ve been able to understand it a whole lot more than when I was in school and I’m even teaching my brother stuff that he didn’t even know. I’ve been working out, studying and staying focused and I’m very confident I can pass a math test for once. I wanna thank god, this study guide and my brother for helping me straighten out my life Anyway that’s my story I hope to inspire those who think it’s impossible, yes I’ve had some help but just remember that with god anything is possible!

I'm not sure if any of you guys finished cuz from the looks it's been a year now lol but Social Studies I somehow passed with a 162, idk how bc I'm terrible at remembering anything. I don't remember it being that hard, I think you just have to write everything down, I know that's very basic but I promise you I'm almost an idiot and I did well by watching all the GED history videos and writing down all my information, you can find most of what you need to know through the ged.com website itself. I passed the English portion well too but Science and math were def harder, if you're not that well in math I suggest KhanAcademy.com and 4Tests.com, they're both free but 4tests.com is a little harder I feel like than the actual test. I passed Science with 149 (just barely getting by) and I still have yet to do my math, It's hard out here lol. Good luck guys

I was doing fine with the basics, the female teacher was great, then it comes the male teacher and I got lost, he is just like ad this, that, and here's the result, I didn't get it at all, he doesen't say why you need to do that or let you think what the answer is going to be, I was just expecting to see him erased the board! Ok, I'll go back and look at it again.

I'm sorry, I'm in CT. And I'm studying by myself, I went to the Adult education center and borrow the book, I don't have time to attend classes either. OMG TY , thought I was the only one who realized he didn't put no effort in making another persons perspective & point of view easy & understandable to learn !
@rhombusmeniscus91643 жыл бұрын
As a Math Teacher myself, I must say ... (in all fairness to "the male teacher" mentioned) ... that it's impossible to reach all persons with one lesson. Ideally ... lessons need to be tailor made to the individual. "Diagnostics" is an important part of teaching. The teacher get to diagnose weaknesses that students might have in areas that are foundational to "the current lesson". People who have the foundation right will understand "the male teacher" above. Hence the need for a personal tutor / assistant in something as important as this qualification. There are numerous people all around you for whom this is really basic stuff. Try get one of them to take you through this video. They'll "put to bed" any questions you have. I genuinely wish you all the best.

lol. Cmon if you guys cant even guess a reason any of this is useful that's pretty sad. Atleast in percentages, everyone on this god damn planet uses them everytime you go mf shopping. 20% sales, 30% sales. That is particularly common, and if you actual have a job where *you* are the one selling things, it's hella useful to know how much people will be spending on things you're selling and how much you'll be making. smh guys. When it comes to understanding graphs, those are commonly used in businesses for similar reason I stated above, and are really useful for making a lot of information easily visible for a person. Algebra is less common but still very useful, you can use it very simply show off patterns that occur, or use it to create a model for spendings and plenty of other things. I wish in schools they spent more time making people interested in the subjects and how they can be used. Instead of just getting everyone to *memorize* everything. That way of teaching is pointless, and you forget 80% of the things you learned because if you've never been taught "what" everything can be used for, you'll just tuck away in the back of your mind and forget it even exists. ;/// Atleast that's the way I see it. glhf on the ged niblers.

this is my problem I had a rough childhood not going to explain that but I haven't learned anything except basic math I was ripped in and out of school all the time and put in different home's in elementary the teacher screamed at me in front of all the other kids we was doing a spelling test it was my first day there she put them in a sentence after she Said the word so I wrote them in a sentence and it was so quite because everyone was writing there words but she walked up behind me looked at my paper and screamed at me like a nut I was already shy from home life so that just done it for me after that I basically quit I couldn't even trust my teachers to teach i learned nothing in middle school i tried but i never got it the teacher wasnt going to stop teaching the whole class just to teach me or high school I was so behind and so stupid I couldn't graduate now that this GED is my only option I feel like I'm never going to make it like there's just no point in anything anymore

I had the same feeling bro. The school system punishes less fortunate boys. Makes them give up and hate everything. I am 25 now. Now i am relearning middle school to take the same test iv already passed. My high school you miss 10 days you fail all your classes. Lets just say i passed all my classes and they gave me to credit. After that i was done. Enough is enough i slept the rest of the year and never came back.
@KronicKillin7 жыл бұрын
If your a women or a single mother they will do anything to help you. But for the boys they just beat us into submission. I gotta say it is working on me right now. Just turning me into a very bitter man.
@KronicKillin7 жыл бұрын
My only advise to is get angry. Buy some dumbbells. Work out until you can't do it any more then study. Once you get bored and angry enough from studying do some more work outs. Repeat that cycle. By the time your in decent shape and confident you will be able to pass the test. Once completed you will have the confidence to find a job and even get women. Use your anger to drive you forward. Turn the sadness into anger and determination. Sorry this is the only option i could think of for myself after feeling sorry for myself for so long.
