Well he really is the musical alchemist in the band with his almost magical approach to creating. What he does with a guitar and on canvas is pure artistry (The Artist) and he’s also been a pilot, a chef, a golf pro etc. this is a tough one.

Mr. Lindsay, I've been wondering what to name the Alex Lifeson Tribute video I'll be compiling and editing soon. This one is Geddy Lee: The Maestro The last one, Neil Peart: The Professor But you may have given a great suggestion here! Alex Lifeson: The Virtuoso! Of course, Virtuoso can be applied to all Rush members! While I've heard some good suggestions from our fellow Rush Family members, yours stands out. Alex Lifeson: The Virtuoso. I have Neil’s first set of temple blocks. Found them in a church basement down the street from where he grew up in Port Dalhousie. The 80’something year old lady church administrator was telling me stories about when Neil practiced there as a teenager. And how in later years she got ahold of his mother to tell her that the church had his ‘hollow coconuts’ (as she called them) and his mom said she’d pass along the message. The box was dated 1971. When I found it while doing the clean out, the church lady told me that I could have them but if Neil ever came looking for them she would have to send him to my house! You can imagine my reply. They are one of my most prized possessions. If I ever have the chance of meeting Geddy I’m going to give them to him. Greatest drummer to ever sit behind a kit. RIP Neil.

Thank you for sharing this. I, too, was given a hand for which I did not ask. I was born with a congenital spine condition, missing an important part of C1 just under my skull. Multiple neck surgeries later, so I wouldn't die, or be paralyzed, I now live in constant chronic pain. After trying and failing to maintain my career in the TV Film industry, I had to admit defeat and was quickly given disability. Another congenital heart condition also almost killed me, and I had to have quadruple bypass surgery recently. I've been allowed to go through quite a bit in life, but I'm still here, writing a new friend back at this very moment. Let's count our blessings while we can. It's a pleasure to hear from you, keep in touch. eric

Geddy has always come across as such a nice humble guy, yet very focused on his work. He's even admitted that he must be a pain to work with as he's so meticulous in the studio. All 3 are just ordinary family guys without ego's. That is why they were able to exist for over 40 years. In recent years Geddy & Nancy have walked extensively in Northern England in the Lake District & Northumberland. I do too & I think I would absolutely s**t myself if I bumped into them one day in the hills, where I spend a lot of time in the summer. 😁

It’s really cool how RUSH has always sustained in the culture and is finding a whole new round of younger fans with their own YT channels who are getting blown away with us day 1, Old School, fans as their first reaction audience. It’s very heartwarming to witness their sincerity. It’s also pretty funny sometimes. Also even though there were female RUSH fans the first go around, as few as they might have been, this generation of female RUSH reactor KZbinrs are impressively very pretty. They are adorable and great fun. Really makes the case for wanting a Rock and Roll Concert Time Machine.
@TheLoudboyExperienceКүн бұрын
I haven't brought this up, but since you have, I'll finally comment. My Dad turned me on to the existence of the Rush reaction videos. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm glad a new generation is finding them. For obvious reasons, I've told my family that I can't make "first-time" Rush reaction videos. I have thought about making a reaction-style video just to be able to play otherwise copyrighted Rush music on my channel. Is that how it works? What a peculiar loophole!!! Somehow reaction videos can play anything with impunity. Strange. Thanks, bud, eric

I've thought about our concert stories being part of the upcoming Livestream show. We'll see 🙂

@neillkist3580 I did not see Clockwork Angels! 😢 Because of this, I'm thankful to Rush for their dedication in capturing so many of their tours. I love my Blu-ray. But my professional life was imploding during that time, and seeing Rush was an impossibility. Here's the takeaway. Life can kick our butts and attempt to take us down; it's unavoidable. How we rise from the ashes is what matters. I wouldn't be who I am without the dark parts of my past. Hard work, relentless determination, and the ability to keep fighting no matter the odds, can lead to a brighter, more successful future. I'm stepping off my soapbox now 😉 eric
