I must've seen Geddy a dozen times in Toronto over the past 40 years, just going about his day, on the sidewalk or in a restaurant or wherever, and for a brief second I have an urge to say something to him, but then I realize how I'd probably feel about strangers accosting me daily, regardless of their intent, and I say nothing. You know, now that I think of it, I don't recall ever seeing Alex or Neil, and I think that's because I never really watched their performances until recently, and just listened to the recordings, and on first glance they're just non-descript white guys like me, just 15 years older, so they didn't warrant further notice. In other words, I certainly DID see those two from time two time, I just didn't recognize them. But Geddy has always had such a distinctive look that you DO give him the second glance that makes your brain click.

Original CD pressings sound great too. It's because from the 90's on digital formats have been cooked to be LOUD due to the LOUDNESS WARS. New vinyl doesn't suffer this either because it's hard to cook vinyl to be overly loud. So recent Rush vinyl releases tend to sound good too.

Jordan's reaction is perfect. He is not a hero worshiper or awed by proximity to celebrity. Geddy Lee is a fantastic musician and rush was a fantastic band. But getty lee is just a human being, and jordan seems to understand that. I agree with him 100%. Except for all that general hospital business.

And no one seems to understand introversion and extroversion. It's a spectrum, a bell curve with very, very few at the extremes. Labeling oneself an introvert has become quite the fad. Seeing as how almost everyone displays traits of both, I suspect most self-proclaimed introverts are actually just lacking in social skills.

I've thought a lot about this video, and I think about Jordan a lot as one does. I think Conan made him a bit embarrassed about his love of Rush and so Jordan downplayed it quite a bit, or tried to anyway. Most Rush fans would have such an exposed nerve on a personal level to meet one of the members and I think Jordan was a bit intentionally reserved about it in case Conan weaponized it against him for entertainment purposes, which he did after all anyway. If Jordan reads this, he can call me anytime and we can discuss Rush all day if he likes. Somehow, someway, a lot of us really get Jordan and can relate. Jordan is awesome.
