I really hope you see this. I wanted to thank you for posting this video. I seen this the other day and I have to tell you it was one of the greatest things I've seen because I immediately went out and bought this game. The last four nights I've been playing this game with my three sons and they all love it as well. It's always wonderful when you can play a game as a family that everyone can enjoy. 35:45 Becca was actually incorrect here. The monsters prioritize characters over the villagers if they're the same distance away. She was referring to two players of similar distance in which the current player decides. Not that it really mattered since she was moved to the character but just for those who are interested in the game

@@kechkaren Can't find that in the rules PDF. I'm pretty sure the timer is the monster deck. Terror only goes up when a hero/villager is hit, or when a card directs you to do so. If the monster deck runs out, the game ends.

This would be better if you could tailor the game to the monsters being used. You'd have the generic cards which are always added, then each monster would have their own unique cards that would add to the decks. It would really add to the thematic nature of the game, and make each game play slightly different.

True, but the reason why you use all the monster cards, is because they are your timer; once you've gone through the entire monster deck once, the game is over. If there are any monsters left on the board, everyone loses.

The game is actually really well balanced where the monsters are concerned. I have been in about a dozen sessions of it and it is always amazing how varied each play through can feel based on the monster combos, who is frenzied (this can changed by event or when frenzied is defeated), and where monster cards are shuffled into pile. 2 monsters (as in this video) is "easy" mode, 3 is standard, and 4 is hard mode.

Although I do agree that sounds fun, (maybe remove 5 cards from the main deck per monster and add their custom cards to the deck so its the same size) you could argue that the middle part of the cards somewhat do that since they only happen with certain monsters)
