For the record, if someone does something they couldn’t/weren’t allowed to do (hopefully by mistake) and no one noticed it at the time, that someone gets to keep the original result. It’s in the rules! :)

You haven't really enjoyed the nuances of this game, until you go insane and the other players make you to "Enter an Elephant". From that point on you cannot unsee all the innuendos in this game... (Also, whenever we played, the player choosing Sinbad always ends up with the Pull of the Sea quest, it's hilarious...)

I've been looking on and off buying this game for literally 10 year this play threw made my decision. I will say the company that made this game in no way made this game accessible at all much like white wolf. First that as an American that has to buy a product in British pounds and buy a product that they may or may not choose to print is bs. But the fact that two of the players got debilitating persistent penalties much not to their own actions or despite their benevolence action.

Fine, Ill say it. This game kinda sucks. I like the concept but the fact that it's entirely random encounters with random results means there's not even a hint of a cohesive story. It feels like a mad lib. You encounter a [noun] and its very [adjective]. Plus the fact that you react before you hear what's happening means that your actions just feel random. Plus every encounter option doesn't feel meaningful. "i help the angry efreet" "the angry efreet says he doesn't want your help. The end" I love the idea of this game, and it's super cool how the events are based around where you are. But I just don't understand why this game is such a beloved classic. I'd rather just grab 4 Choose Your Own Adventure books if I wanted something pre-written. Or if you really want to have fun playing your own story, pick up a role playing game! Go check out tabletops old videos on RPGs. There was one that focused more on storytelling than anything else, I don't remember the name but. Or just grab good ol' d&d for a rich and complex world that always has something new to discover. I just don't think this game is as fulfilling as just spending 2 hours on a d&d session.

"Not a fan of political correctness".... It's always nice when someone is brave enough to stand up and say "I don't like it when people choose their words to avoid offending others!". Good on you for fighting against the awful concept of taking the feelings of others into consideration. What a hero! (/s if you didn't get that). Cripple has a history of being used as an insult against those with disabilities. Why does it bother you so much if someone tries to use words without those types of associations? Do you also lament the loss of the words f****t and n****r?
@mikeyjones4193
@mikeyjones4193 4 жыл бұрын
What a stupid comparison. You're comparing words like "the N word" and "the homophobic F word" to the word cripple. The formers were used almost solely in terms of discrimination. Where the word cripple has an unrelated definition. Saying it is offensive to even use the word cripple is as stupid as expecting people to not use the words vegetable or fat because they are words that at some point have been used in ways that offend somebody's feelings, when they have their own definitions outside of that.

Legally, the definition of expert is "the person in the room who knows more about the given subject than anyone else in the room." So if you are in a room with 4 friends, and you are only one who has read the "Lord of the Rings," that would make you the expert in the room.

@@Samael1113 so, you happen to be well intentioned. That's nice. But are you going to potentially date any of them? It's of absolutely zero consequence to anyone if you refrain from that comment. But by making it, you ARE contributing to a larger societal problem: people feeling the need to judge (even if it's good) and commentate on a woman's looks, relationship potential (she's not. Not to you, anyway), and status. Would it matter if none of the women here were attractive? Would it diminish the over all quality of this video? I am not trying to paint you as a villain, just trying to open your eyes to how these kinds of public comments ultimately cause harm, even if not direct person to person
@Samael1113
@Samael1113 5 жыл бұрын
@@Margar02 No, you are being hyper-vigilant, white-knighting and looking to create conflict where there is none. And contradicting yourself in the process, while inferring connections that don't exist in either of my previous comments while willfully ignoring clarifications (or do you not know what reciprocity means?). Once again, Nowhere did I bring or imply gender in(to) the equation either, nor did I diminish the personhood or imply the 4 people at that table were untalented or that sexuality had any influence on that talent. That is all your doing - singling out and projecting your insecurities and negativity on to random positive energy in the KZbin comment sections - a place where, in this specific instance, it probably wouldn't take long to find actual derogatory statements about gender or physical appearance or how Becca isn't Wil (and is a poor substitute for him) - considering I still see it regularly 3? 4? years after Tabletop was cancelled and they slotted GtG in to fill the void. I paid a nice, broad compliment and moved on. There was no harassment, or seeking to aggressively engage and take their time, no stalking on social media. Most people enjoy receiving random, unsolicited non-reductive compliments with no expectations attached. If you do not, consider yourself an exception, and stop speaking for those who are quite capable of speaking for themselves. By continuing those actions, you are stripping agency and person-hood from those you claim to speak for, without their consent.
