1:03:44 OK the players messed up so much throughout the game, but this one I can't let slide. That card can ONLY be played when 4 green tiles have a 3 stack high of bamboo each. This same mistake was made on Will Wheaton's Tabletop show.

The gardener grows on all ADJACENT tiles of the same color, not just one. You also must declare both actions before you do either.

+1 to your first point, -1 to the second. You do NOT have to choose both actions before executing your first. I went back and read the rules closely & I can see why you construed it this way, but the FAQ explicitly says you can execute your first action before choosing your second action. That distinction does not exist in the core rule book. All it says is that the choices are finalized by placing two chips on the choices, and then the order of the actions is determined by the player. Glad to see there is an updated faq though.

On the plot objective, for example if the objective is three green tiles connected together and there are five green tiles connected together in the game, is it acceptable? Or the three greens must be surrounded by other colors or empty space to be exactly the same pattern?

I am starting to find it annoying that they make mistakes like that once every 2 games or so. They should have someone appointed to making sure they follow the rules of the game. I believe TableTop had a few people validating they were not making mistakes.

I really enjoy Becca Scott as host (and, I've gotta admit, I never liked Tabletop). I *do* recommend that they have a rules adviser on set. I'm thinking a young teenage game nerd who is a rules master. Give her/him/them a yellow flag like NFL referees use and have them throw it onto the table when a rule is broken or misplayed (like not putting bamboo on the pink tile next to the pond when the gardener was moved to an adjacent tile, or Becca placing a fertilizer improvement on a tile that already had bamboo on it.) This would both be theatrical AND prevent mis-teaching the game to viewers (and even in a way channel Wil Wheaton - or, more exactly, Wesley Crusher - for you Tabletop-lovers).

Raging Caterpie well for starters, they make quite a few mistakes from what they are saying and what they are doing when explaining Rules. In this video they say the panda moves in a straight line which is true but then they don’t move the panda in a straight line while explaining it. Also they explain about the gardener only growing plots that are irrigated proceed to move the gardener to a plot that is not irrigated and grow a yellow Bamboo piece on it. Then they explain that adjacent plots of the same color grow when they are irrigated and then don’t grow the plot that was irrigated!! I’ve tried watching This channel but it doesn’t seem like the host is truly a gamer but just an actress and is just not as fun as Tabletop.

I could have sworn I hade seen this episode before, but it is just hours old. I have seen the game before (could be on Tabletop but I honestly though it was with Becca). As others already said: This play through is riddled with errors and missed rules. The talk around the table is contrived and stilted and we even have that "did we forget to mention your new movies" in the middle of a play. Please, at least pretend that you are here to play the game. not just to promote your latest release But I guess the other play throughs I have seen from this team has been just as boring. And _never_ use phrases like "Tabletop games are super fun, but learning the complicated directions and rules can be a challenge". This game has very simple rules that can be explained in less than five minutes, it is by no way complicated. Constructive criticism? Focus on showing the game instead of your other work. This has the feel of a morning talk show on TV, with a guest that just "happens" to have released a new book recently.

There is no way to make this a not-skeevy question... But is there a standard "shirt check" for female hosts/guests for videos like this? There is so much leaning over the table, particularly for hosts, that it seems like it would be good to check that they are comfortable with the view from the low-angle whole-table shots when they do so. So much potential for down-shirt shots otherwise.

I wonder why they chose such an old game (2011) when it is clear that no one on the show knows it very well. Typically board game shows either present something new or an old classic. If it is something new mistakes will be made, but there will be someone who at least read the rules and committed them to memory (this person may not necessarily be on camera). If it is an old classic, I expect at least one person on camera actually know how to play the game. And more importantly: In editing, someone will point out the mistakes made, But this is not a board game show.

Game the Game has been around almost as long as Critical Role, it started 1 week after Critical Role. Unlike Tabletop, this is a mostly weekly show that started out with 2 hosts.
