Bart: Sorry for the delayed response, I work crazy hours. I also had to take a look in some of my Whiskey journal's where I keep notes. I have had both the 10 and 16 year Bushmills, and have written positive notes on them. I don't believe I have had any of the Spot Whiskey's. I will have to take a look at them, always down for trying a fresh drink. Especially a Whiskey I've never had. I have had Teeling, Paddy, Midleton, Jameson, Dead Rabbit, Tullamore Dew, Dingle, Redbreast and Bushmills. Redbreast 21 is my current favorite Irish Whiskey, and Midleton was also very good.

Free will in hands of my beloved but idiotic sons is going to get them killed young. Victor temple is full of contradictions, he wants to be an Anarch but has to respect the free will of his sons even if they are on self-destruction path, while being a Ventrue, a clan that tends to give their people a territorial zeal. I agree with Fiorenza, he will eventually tip towards the Camarilla if after a Convention of Thorns 2.0 they agree to adapt to the new world.

Apparently he was palling around with Jeanette and Therese didn't like that and now no one's seen Jeanette, his drum circle is dead and somethings going on with him that Therese left a meeting with Vannevar to deal with so whatever it is seems serious. Personally my theory is that Jeanette fucked with X somehow (maybe his mind because she's a strong Malkavian) and is keeping him somewhere, all these texts being "from X" but not actually. All just speculation though, I'm sure we'll see in season 4 or 5. oh, also there was that bit where I think the last time we saw him he was on the run from Therese and said he couldn't go back to Santa Monica? all seems pretty scary to me

@@persephone6204 x has the same problem! He can balance the "lets have fun" childish part of his charachter with the "down to business" tyrant part just like janette and therese. BOTH are necessary but either in extreme or exclusion of the other are harmful. X swings from being a meek slave to a total hedon having no boundaries at all. He realises hedonism and chaos are not the solution but thinks the only alternative is salvery and submission. Thos will continue until he reconciles the order and chaos within himself.

Definitely think Annabelle should at least have some discussion with Victor about His Son becoming a vampire, instead of springing that on him as a surprise after the fact. He's sacrificed so much of their relationship to keep his son safe, and she's kinda dragging him into more and more danger just so she can have access to him.

I agree that a talk with Victor would be good but Mark should do that, not Annabelle, since the whole point of this was that Mark is an adult who makes his own decisions. He chose Annabelle as his partner, he chose to drink her blood, and if he becomes a vampire for Annabelle that is his decision as well. It's not Annabelles' responsibillity or right to fix that father-son-relationship beyond providing support.

I was saying is that considering its his son, and with both Victor and Annabelle having an understanding of how consequential and radically life-changing the decision is (particularly the more experienced person in this scenario, victor)... Communication is incredibly important, at the very least for the idea of Informed Consent. Like with Eleanor's situation... she wasnt exactly as informed on what was going on as she could have been, even from Annabelle. Especially regarding the relationship of the three individuals involved. Annabelle is part of Victor's coterie, and he's been trying to help and watch out for her. Mark is Victor's son, and someone he's sacrificed A Lot to keep safe. And Mark is Annabelle's boyfriend. Just for the sake of not Harming relationships and creating distrust, anger, etc... Communication beforehand is incredibly important. Whether it is keeping people informed on whats going on, or making sure people are informed on what their decisions mean so they can make the best decision they can for themself.

That matches Annabelle's personality though. She tends to do whats best for her at any given moment and makes decision based on what she wants and not necessarily what is right. honestly i have trouble buying her as the charismatic face of the anarchs rising up to defend against the ivory tower. I understand the nature of the story they are telling but just a bit disconnecting that she keeps fucking up heavily and getting very good advice from much more powerful and older vampires but seems to nod her head then ignore it the next night.

Gangrels are good fighters against Lasombra. It would be a good option for Mark. Their eyes allow them to see through their darkness, their resistance (Fortitud) allows them to deal with the damage of darkness and their claws of aggravated damage allow them to cut through the tentacles and armor of darkness. And their vigilant animals reduce surprise attacks. Probably the only reason Scyorax survived was being gangrel. Against a better generation Gangrel Aurora would not have it so easy maybe Ramona and Sire of Scyorax could visit her. Setites / Ministry can also fight with Lasombra.

Gangrel darksight works in lasombra obtenebration according to Jason's storytelling when Karsh could see in Lucita's darkness. I think it's fair also, if obtenebration blocks any kind of sight beside lasombra's one it's too OP

Bart Connolly he’s a ventrue, Pieterzoon, Hardestadt, et al used ghouls to run their day to day operations for their corporations. There are lots of behind the desk ghoul jobs Mark could do for Temple of Boom. As of now, it is strange seeing that Victor’s Temple of Boom empire consists only of Victor, his club staff and security. Where are the publicists, studio engineers, lawyers, copywriters, accountants, talent management etc? Sounds like a job a for ghoul to manage all that, especially when the boss can’t be seen during the daylight and literally sleeps during normal work hours. It’s less dangerous, and with a high profile the other kindred will have to think twice before taking any action towards Mark, especially now he has been known as Victor’s son.

@Timothy Owens exactly, it has nothing to do with being Anarch, it simply doesn't really respect the setting. There's no way a VTM campaign go as long as this with no humanity loss. I only remember one stain being gained, by Jasper back in S1. No frenzy checks unless there's fire involved, and even that only when it's a extreme situation. The best jokes with them and they just talk back and tell it to shut up. No clan banes ever get in play... This is a super sugar-coated WoD campaign. If the acting wasn't frequently amazing I would rage quit a long time ago.

Part of that is implementing house rules if the players feel that certain things hinder enjoyment. I see no issue with how they're playing the game, as every group I've stuck with in any tabletop game has always veto'd certain rules for the sake of fun. The least enjoyable groups I played with - and the ones that dissolved the fastest - were the ones that were huge sticklers about the rules, and power-gamed to the max. The only issue I have is no humanity loss, as it's just consistently left Annabelle without any sort of compromise to her altruistic nature.

@@IrisCorven Definitely agree with you there. Game systems are the tabletop gaming equivalent of a writing prompt. They're there to give you a starting point, not to constrict you and stop you from having fun. People should feel free to run Vampire however they want to run it to get the experience they're looking for/are comfortable with, and to tell the stories they want to tell. All decisions/changes are acceptable and fitting, because it's your universe you're creating. You can't do it wrong. Anyone who thinks it should be run a certain way is free to play their own universe. If I'm running dnd, for instance, I typically give my players as many short/long rests as they want. Short/long rests are like a difficulty setting in a videogame. Some people like to be challenged, some people want to relax on easy and enjoy a story. I have no problem going either direction. Similarly with Vampire, some people are really in to exploring the dark themes and some people just think vampires are fun to play around with. I have no problem with running it either way, as long as the players are having fun. I definitely agree with you about wanting to see humanity loss. It's up to them whether they want to do that or not, but I think failure and consequence are a vital component to compelling storytelling. Not including it denies them a lot of character growth and motivation. It would, in my opinion, improve the story.

I like Erika Ishii. But I HATE Annabelle. She's just...very flat compared to all the other characters. Hasn't learned anything, hasn't done much for the rebellion. Victor was the one that got a truce and temporary peace, he's doing way more than Annabelle has accomplished. Even Daffodil and Lavender has more interesting archs than Annabelle, and they're side characters! It's almost like if Annabelle wasn't part of this, the story would barely be affected. She needs to GROW. I hope someone like Jeannette comes in to give her a very difficult choice that she can't back out of. OR Annabelle goes the Mad Queen route: Her blind desire for justice becomes toxic and she loses all humanity trying to get it.

Apology for the Necropost - Jeanette did meet Belle. After her very poorly handled Valkyrie issue.(I'm being exceptionally kind.) Her answer was to, as always, cry and complain. Her conviction twice over proved to be about as solid as dust in the wind. Jeanette IMO, should have actually well full Malk on her by forcing her hand. Mark would have been an excellent choice. As recompense for her actions as a favour to the Valkyries, as well as force development. Anyhow, I'll not respond further and my apologies. 😒👍

Im late to the party, but I agree with you. I think in this instance at least, the reason is because of the content, the context its being discussed, and the tone. Compared to the other PC epilogues, this is such a casual discussion that doesnt carry anywhere near as much weight as the others. There isnt much of anything at stake, no big reveals, no tension between characters, nothing. Jasper and Eva were discussing their dynamic, revealing secrets to eachother that they werent sure how the other would take it, and were interrupted by an important character reveal. Victor found out A Lot about Ib, her thoughts on their friendship, where she's been, her new role as Sheriff, and how thats been affecting everything including how they were set up to save Jasper's life. Nellie found out her FBI Agent Ghoul's secret life, more about the inquisition, how things may be getting worse, as well as a secret almost meeting with Susanne. Then we have Annabelle and Mark here trying to be cute while talking with Nines about possibly making Mark a vampire. In content alone, one of these epilogues isnt carrying the same weight as the others. But then theres also the tone of all these different conversations. Annabelle's is just so... playful, whereas you can feel the anxiety about the future in all the others.

Holy shit! Eleanor's a kindred?!! I knew Annabelle did something drastic at the end of season 1, but I honestly wasn't expecting that. Hopefully Marisha gets to guest star again, 'cause I would love to see where this story goes. Also, really love how Mark's actor play this character; there's that inherent kindness and naivete that feels like season 1 Annabelle, but he's a bit calmer, more at ease with the drastic changes around him, partially because he doesn't understand too much, but also because I feel like he's less likely to jump to quick conclusions

I have a problem with Chloe = Archangel theory. Unless she’s a ghoul working for a higher power than the Barons AND the Prince, she wouldn’t have any access to the information privy to each faction/group. Archangel even has personal details on each individual’s going about that they never even mentioned to their coterie mates. Not to mention, she’s more knowledgeable than a fledgling like Annabelle about the workings of kindred society.

Being cool and smart Brujah doesn’t necessarily mean being the True Brujah. There is certain percentage of misfits and punks in the clan, no doubt about that, that’s what happens when their bane combines with rebellious nature and gets magnified by really bad self-control. But that doesn’t mean everyone is like that, and Nines clearly has that control over himself. His control is not perfect and he knows that, he knows some things can easily grow him out of balance, he actually might be under some True Brujah influence, but he doesn’t completely sticks with their school of thought and he’s clearly is not some detached and passionless Temporis wielder in his core. He’s just an intelligent and charismatic bruh. Think about that, a True Brujah is very unlikely to ask someone about opinions because they crack down on subjective feelings in favor of logic. Much like toreadors do with aesthetics. That’s how they overcome the crisis of their existence as kindred. It’s hard for a kindred to separate own current identity from their desired identity, from their former identity as a mortal, from the beast and bane, from all horrible things around, and the True Brujah get rid of all of that, looking for alternatives in philosophy. Nines, on the other hand, uses philosophy only as method. It’s all well and good, but philosophy can’t give a purpose. He uses logic to clarify things, to ask really good questions, to point the others towards their ideals and identity. Towards all of the things which barely even matter for the True Brujah. It’s true that there is always a possibility. VTM characters don’t know what their character sheets tell, after all, he can be one without really knowing that. That could explain why he doesn’t share their view and actually is a die-hard Anarch instead of Sabbat or at least Camarilla. Can also be a True Brujah in hiding, they like to pretend being regular Brujah. But how many of them out there anyway? The odds of meeting an antediluvian might actually be higher than meeting a true brujah in this timeline. So I doubt there is a reason to suspect Nines is one of them.

To be fair they don't have VTM books to actually catalog every different clan of kindred and all of their abilities, it's mostly word of mouth in the WoD, and if not engaging with certain clans for a long time (Lasombra and Tzimisce for example) their notable characteristics would only be know by elder kindred who have battled against the Sabbat at least in pre-V5.
