Emily is around my height and seeing her climb like this is great motivation!! Like obviously skill comes with practice and years of mileage, but the fact that climbers with all kinds of bodies, differences in weight and height, all manage to get to that top is so cool! Love climbing! Thanks for this video! I've learnt a lot and can't wait to try it out.

I love how good climbers make climbing look effortless, yet we all know how hard it is for someone who is out of shape and not schooled in any technique other than the fear of falling.

I always like to do some slab problems as a part of a warm-up, because it helps me to focus on the use of legs instead of arms. If I go directly to more negative routes, I easily start pulling too much with my arms and forget the legs. Doing some slabs helps my brain to not forget the legs. Unfortunately, some gyms don't have many slabs :(

I was working on the slab lab for a couple sessions. Such a fun area! Emily makes everything look so easy. I had to take a more dynamic (and sloppy) approach to getting to the good crimp above the volumes on #11, and similarly for #18, I just stood up off the left foot to get higher into the volume above, "slapping" it, instead of adjusting feet first, like she does. Makes me want to revisit these problems.

she made 11, 12, and 13 look easy but i basically watched almost everyone get shut down on them when i was there. those felt touchstone v4 - 5ish to me. (11 being the hardest of the 3 maybe due the gym being hot) would love to see 16 - 18 as those were significantly harder than the rest (maybe v7 ish?)

What kinda confuses me is the fact, that there is only one marked starthold. Is that common in this climbing gym? And how do you know, which other hold you are supposed to use for the starting position?
@PandanNyTV2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the climber gym, if only 1 is marked then it is one of the following: - Both hands must begin on that hold - One hand must begin on that hold, the other hand may begin on any hold *below* the start hold.
@hioh87162 жыл бұрын
@@PandanNyTV then it seems to be this one: - One hand must begin on that hold, the other hand may begin on any hold below the start hold. Never heard of that rule, but it makes sense. Thank you!
