I used to have a book that outlined guilds, factions, their interrelationships. Which included options to have these guilds or factions go to war offstage. It was called Reign: Enchiridion and was written by Greg Stolze.

Great Vid! Glad some of the suggestions (and what others gave) made it to the channel - little sad to see Zealous Zouaves not make it through the gamut of decision making haha :) After vid comments: 1. TTT - as noted elsewhere, this is unreleased at the moment. A little clarification which might explain some of the frustration, the creator of TTT is the same creator as DDD, GGG, WW, and the mountain/forest tile books. When creating these books, the creator created them basically all simultaneously and intended all of them to be used interchangeably (he also created additional terrain tile books such as a swamp book, jungle book, desert book, islander book ect,.) and although these games are completed, the creator of 4AD, Andrea, is the sole publisher and has a additional content creators' works that he also releases (such as his own, or the card expansions) hence why maybe only 5 or so of Eric's books will be published in years time. Another layer of this is that Andrea is also a the lead artist on all of the books (the cover from GGG is actually of himself and his wife), then a final layer of this is that Andrea "lived" in Ukraine. In fact, before the war, TTT was supposed to come out basically when the war started and he in fleeing the country he lost a lot of his files and art. TTT is safe, but, as you can imagine, this set a huge set back to the company and all release schedules of 4ad related stuff. The first thing that was done was that he made a Patron to help refund the company, but a huge portion of the patron went to buy supplies that Andrea was sending back to Ukraine to help friends and family who a re still stuck in his home city. I don't know when he is expecting to release TTT, I just know that the company and creator went through some tough obstacles this past year and most of the things that were published over the summer were actually books that were already completed as a whole prior to the war. Unfortunately, I don't know if he still intends to release it this year or not. I do know that TTT is so large that it actually had to be broken into two books to include everything. I also suspect that one of Eric's tile books probably got bumped up on the release schedule to mitigate some of this and would suspect to see one of those come out first before TTT does. There is a lot of hype for it to come out but things outside of the publisher's hands keep coming in to push it back. I created some content for the book, but due to its enormous size, about 80% of what I created got shaved off so that it could fit haha. It was a random tavern generating table based off of Shakespeare's plays and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (one of the random combinations that would have been a possible combo was: The Fall Staff Inn - I believe almost all of that got cut off due to size-- such is the life of artistry and writing I guess!) 2. It doesn't say this within the book, but in WW the first two Vermin and Minion tables were intended to be encounters one would find on the open road outside of towns and would thematically not make sense fighting in a dungeon (hence the second set of minion tables). These tables also use faction points which go with GGG so the two books go in hand and should work great for if, let's say, you decide to be in a town and are getting your quest from your patron and decide that as you leave the city to do the quest you want to roll to see if there are any encounters on the road leaving the town gate. 3. (I made this suggestion to someone on the FB page and will share here) A fun suggestion when it comes to selecting the books is to randomly pick out the books you'll use by shuffling them like cards and randomly drawing what you'll use. For example, maybe a roll of a d6 might determine how many supplements you'll use, then randomly draw out that many books and find a way to narratively tie them together. I also don't know if I shared this, but on FB I created a pretty extensive conversion of the D&D module, Sunless Citadel, essentially creating four different ways on how one could go about converting a D&D module to 4AD. I can share this here if you'd like. 4. Do you intend to do any videos of the solo/duet rules/playthroughs? Would also be interested in seeing a Halloween playthrough of DDD. The layered dungeons are fun (falling between levels is even possible).

Thanks for all this info. To answer your question about playthroughs or demos: maybe! I would like to explore those solo rules more and possibly do that on camera. I’m a bit behind in a bunch of vids on other systems but I do love 4AD and would like to do more with it on the channel.

@@alnelson1131 Reached out to Andrea for an update on TTT, he still has a lot of art and formatting left for the book (though the cover is done). There have been big gamming conventions in Europe that he has been traveling to over the past month or so showcasing a new game that he has been working on. Once he returns from the convention season, he plans to release another 4ad book which is already completed and then he will slowly resume where he left off on TTT as well work on other Ganesha game releases that are non-4ad related. All I can say is that the company has never produced something as expansive as TTT (a book which will be hundreds of pages) as most of their products are around the 40-60 page count and retail at about 10 or so bucks. This is the first product to be on par, page count-wise, with mainstream rpgs. I know there is a huge hype for the product but the realism is that Ganesha games has found its profit margin in smaller games, if the game makes a big profit than that is great for Andrea and Eric, however, seeing as how the company had to financially rebuild itself, and is still recovering, because of the Ukrainian War, I can understand from a business standpoint why Andrea has temporally paused on its release-- though a pdf release or maybe a quickstart guide as a sneakpeak with the basics probably could go over well and continue to build that anticipation.

TTT has been in the works since 2016-ish. It's finished, broken up into 2 big books, and just waiting to be released. Should be out later this year or beginning of next year. It's definitely a different experience.

Just popped here to say that I enjoy the Iron Maiden references in the "Digressions of the Devouring Dead". Besides the mention of listening to Iron Maiden, the names of all the Necromantic Basic and Expert Spells are also titles of Iron Maiden songs! And the name of one of the Unique Artifacts is the name of an Iron Maiden album🤘 I love 4AD and "Digressions of the Devouring Dead" looks like something I would enjoy (and not just for the Iron Maiden references 🙂 ).

Do you find the ranged weapons, turn 0, reequipping with a melee weapon, changing what is equipped entering a corridor vs. a room to be confusing and a bit tedious? I've tried to stream line it all in my mind but it's a bit iffy. I like 4AD because my wife and I can play it together. We love throwing dice. Any idea how the coop play is in D100 Dungeon? I much prefer the rules for D100 when playing solo. Also, any plans to do a video on D100 Space?

I do agree with what you're saying and often forget to take the time to switch... I haven't done any coop play with d100... based on how the system runs and the detail involved, I feel it might be a lot to maintain coop, with lots of down time as one person waited for the other. I think that is really a solo experience at its best. And YES, I will be covering d100 Space and can't wait to get the game book to show off to everyone!

i guess I'm dumb...or not up to snuff on this system. I kind of struggled a bit to understand 4AD. I agree with that others said that the book layout isn't the most user friendly thing. I honestly just sort of forgot about it and went back to my DCC stuff. You're very good at explaining and doing a good over view

4AD is a wonderful system if you simply avoid all of the books written by Bouchard. That's the key to keeping interest in it long term, from my perspective. It's a silly, jumbled, nonsensical game with no legs when all of his stuff is added.
