As a model rairoader in the U.S., your processes are not only good, your videos are top notch. The time lapse is nice so we're not waiting 20 minutes to see the next step, the dialog recorded seperate as commentary is the way it should be done as it is nice, clear, good volume level. Well done sir!

I recently started a Resin Geode stand up piece and was wanting to have a hollow centre. I watched a few resin geode uploads, none had the finish I was after, namely somewhat realistic. That is, until I found this gem of an upload. Thanks heaps for explaining it in such a way that it's possible to get what I'm attempting to achieve

A light bulb came on at the end of this video for me. I kept wondering how you used cork to stick things together, finally tweaked to the accent, caulk! Divided by the barrier of a common language as Churchill famously said. LOL, thanks for the great video, the loose top Stone application and glue down method was a huge win for me.

Just got back from spending the holiday with my family and catching up with videos, so I need to watch parts 2 and 3, but so far its shaping up nicely. I don't know if you've ever thought of it, but chunks of pine bark (like you'd get for landscaping) make amazing rocks and its an easy material to work with; just a thought for the future if you do another diorama board and feel like adding things in. Looking forward to the other installments!

Good to know isopropanol works better than flow aid, makes sense since it's an alcohol and from my experience as an artist, alcohol based inks always soak through paper way more than water based ones.

Hi Luke, great video as always, I'm a new subscriber. I stuck with thiner sheets of polystyrene. Can I ask what you would use to glue these sheets together bearing in mind the usage of a hot wire. I have experimented with a few things before but the hot wire has trouble going through the dried glue or just stick with cocktail sticks as you mentioned. Also what is 'cork' filler & where would I find some. Learning a lot , thanks :)

Great stuff. BUT - just to say, burnt polystyrene releases CYANIDE among other very unpleasant by - products (that includes with a hot wire cutter). Important to be well ventilated. Also, when it is sanded, saw-cut and broken, it releases microscopic little hooks into the air that will get into your lungs. It really is very unpleasant stuff. Be safe - all best wishes.
