I owned the Hue box just like this, and switched to the camera-based Govee one. Genuinely, I'd take the camera any day: with these boxes you lose valuable video quality (no HDMI 2.1), and they aren't compatible with any of your TV's built in apps.

Thank you!! Someone who knows the true details of this product. It's amazing how many people and companies say it works with everything... like this description of "finally ditched the camera." Yeah... if you only use certain products, it's great...! I did a bar with this kit because they had xfinity as a cable source. I had no choice but to do the camera version... but it turned out awesome!!

Now all Govee needs to do is make the strips diffused like they already have for their desk glow strip.
@LIONTRIBEACTUAL4 ай бұрын
Govee heard you Rad and their COB Strip Light Pro is exactly what you are asking for!!! Using the latest "chip on board" technology, Govee's flagship COB strip light redefines what's possible in home lighting. Featuring a sleek and thin silicone tube design that uses "chip on board" light instead of individual LED beads, for seamless and soft lighting with no glare spots. @Rad1oD3mon…Is this what you want?? Well there’s more where that came from buddy…check this out..Govee’s breakthrough advanced COB technology gives Mr. Rad1oD3mon a diffused strip that features an incredible 756 LEDs per meter! Hey Rad..that’s alot of diodes if you didn’t know. RGBIC+W color and white light come standard for you Rad, along with 4501m/m brightness to cleanly illuminate or highlight any home feature you got homie. Now I’m going to bet, you are sitting there saying “this sounds great..but I cant install something like this” well..Govee has your back Rad.. with high-adhesive acrylic transparent backing for easy peel-and-stick surface application and supported cutting installation…set your worries aside. Afterwards, keep that effort minimal..because Google Assistant, Alexa and Matter all work with Rad’s dream strip and if you’re feeling spicy, Govee motion sensors will work as well. Govee is accepting applications for “Co-Creators” right now to help beta test the strips prior to launch. Now Rad, please listen…only 30 individuals who demand the best for their lighting setups, are going to join in testing the lastest Govee flagship strip light. Even though the Govee COB Strip Light Pro was designed to meet the requirements stated in your comment over 3 months ago..you still gotta apply..or else you’ll have to wait to buy. Make sure you mention that Liontribe sent you in your application….doing so just might have your strip dreams become a colorful reality. Just swipe on over to your Govee Home App ASAP and apply for the opportunity to test out the first product designed from a comment on a KZbin video. This is for you Rad!!!! You inventive demon you!!

Problem with HDMI is that it is expensive to get HDMI 2.1. A 60fps 360p camera with manual focus wheel would be ideal. Then you get free average color using manual blur, fast 360p transfer of color information. You would just need to adjust contrast to get actual blacks when tv is black.
