I preorded both the deadpool and wolverine variant steels. I can always cancel on amazon and there is the price guarantee if it drops. A lotnof new 4k steel releases tend to be between $35-$40. Id sooner preorder with the ability to cancel than be at the whim of a scalper. I can see your point about the front and back. But I do also see some merit to 2 versions beyond "give me money". I mean the money is probably a huge part of it. But a lot of people who collect steelbooks do display them on a wall with those rails. So in that situation they do have more display options with two steels versus one. Ive seen some folks buy those magnetic tool rails and they use them to display their steels.

I'm kind of surprised that alot of people are accepting the prices under the idea that they will drop. I don't see that steelbook dropping past $47. And I still think that is too high. Deadpool 2 will probably be the only Deadpool steelbook in my collection as well...

I checked Best Buy Canada and the Steelies are ~$34 US. All sold out of course - people in the comments bragging that they bought 30-50 coppies to resell. Thanks BB for not limiting quantities.

They sold the 3D in Japan, Amazon wouldn't let anyone outside of Japan to buy it, the steels for the 3D which is the only one I wanted, sold out in hours. I'm upset with both Amazon and Disney for such a messed up release.

Because the steel books are so similar and I agree totally I’ll be getting the standard 4k release with the Deadpool core ect Not the best but better than spending £70 (Scotland) for two steel books that as you say should have been one. If I ever see them in future for cheap I’ll pick them up but I ain’t in any rush

I picked up the pop-up book version at Walmart because that's the only one they had, and they were sold out everywhere. I just think in the day of where Blu-ray is going extinct and everything's going digital. I just wish they included the Ultra HD Blu-ray in the same package. And I do agree with your take that this is starting to give me a blood sucking lawyer vibe, and that's why I like your take on it, and now I'm subscribing to your channel, sir.

Yes, the prices are almost rude and hurtful. All of these customers are not wealthy. Most went to see the film in theaters. I, like a dope, bought the digital because I’m an addict… It was $29.99!!! You do get the extras too, but I wanted at least once steelbook. I have no steelbooks…but this one is amazingly fun film. But not sure why this. I think they’re hoping a lot of preorders… then it will drop but around november-December for the holidays.

However I asked my local Target why the prices were so high, they actually told me the reason is because come 2025 they will no longer be selling DVDs or blu-rays at their stores. I got the pop up Walmart exclusive. Doesn’t it seem like the tabs at the bottom are glued wrong like shouldn’t it actually pop up when laying flat. I’ve been looking at mine like there’s indented tabs there and it seems like they were meant to be glued folded in so when you open it the whole image truly pops up.

The DVDs are still around as a lower cost alternative. Not everyone has the wallet for the higher priced stuff despite what boutique collectors say. Also, DVDs are seen quite a bit in libraries as well.
