This is a great attitude to have. It's like thanks for this award and recognition, but i'ts not some blessing from the all mighty. Have fun with it, don't take it too seriously. More acceptance speeches need this charm, whit and grounded attitude. .

I remember watching this when it aired. Before she presented the punch line, I remember thinking "oh that's so dumb" (about the little girl tugging at her dress and saying she wants to be president because of her) and then when geena davis says "well that didn't actually happen" i thought, "brilliant!!!" ha ha great speech!

Funny speech! I never realized she won The Golden Globe for this, Too bad it wasn't enough to save the show. This is another example of the network not caring about the viewers. It could have switched this show to another night, promoted it more, and allowed it a chance to develop a following. Instead, they just cut it like yesterday's news. It was a great show, with a great cast, and superior writing. That's not enough anymore. Instead, good shows get canceled, and trash runs forever.

Mash and Bonanza are two television shows that had poor ratings their first season, but went on to become classics. Networks used to work with shows they believed in. Now they cut and run. They claim that's the nature of the business, but only because that's the reality they've chosen. Good shows get canceled, trash runs forever, and the viewer is the loser. In the future, it will be an artist's market. KZbin like channels will put the networks out of business. I can hardly wait for that day!.

Just started watching this show and it's excellent. Disappointed to see there's only one season. WTF?! Win an award and gets cancelled? What is wrong with these executives? When this show was on, there were so many good shows, like all those nominated here, but now it's just rubbish because good shows get cancelled too soon. Maybe the execs are too young.Want instant gratification instead of doing the work to build up their audience. Too many new shows too, which dilutes the audience, hence lower viewerships.
