Yeah the SBDs are the worst of the enemies in that game. Having two or three alone is fine, but having dispensers that dispense them is hell since there will be at least three more by the time the dispenser is destroyed. They did a terrible job at balancing the game on Hard difficulty because of this. I don't know how people can get past the part on Kashyyyk with the two super dispensers without dying a bunch of times on hard.

The Heavy Assault Mercenaries were the absolute most DANGEROUS enemies you could ever run into. It's a good thing they never put two in one area in Republic Commando.

Fiercely agree, they’re scary as hell. It’s a creature that can reasonably melee a Wookie, in a suit of power armor, with a Gatling gun. Absolutely terrifying.

Id assume they didn't directly confront that many clones. More likely they infiltrated, shut off life support, and I'd assume slipped something into the air supply. Only way it really makes sense that they'd be able to pacify so many clones across a whole ship.

This makes me wonder of the scenario why the Trandoshans did not even try to make a difference at the Battle of Umbara. If Umbara remained firmly in the Separatists' hands, Count Dooku can staged an attack against Kashyyyk by using the Trandoshan privateers to pressure the King of Wookies to secede from the Republic and join the Confederacy. At least, I think this will work better than General Grievous' "negotiation" for sure. Right?

I've just finished Republic Commando campaign on hard difficulty (got it from Prime Gaming) and I don't think there is any better portrayal of B2 droids in battle - these things are walking tanks! Btw I absolutely love the game despite its age - it brought me many good memories of challenging singleplayer missions from my childhood, and the atmosphere is amazing! I wish we could get an imperial sequel😢

What were your thoughts on that one section on Kashyyyk with the two super dispensers and the turret? How did you pass that? I have yet to get past it. I have seen someone pass it before but every time I try it like that, my team goes down before I can get to the turret. Other than the part, I've been able to get the campaign done decently on hard difficulty using some simple strategy and cover.

Hey Geetsly (or anyone who knows), Was there ever any non-clone combatants on the field during TCW other then Jedi / Officers or Resistance Fighters? In a galaxy of trillions, wouldn't there be one or more troops that would want to fight on the front lines? Edit: I mean in the Government (Republic / Seperatists). Like imagine a regular Human fighting alongside the Clones while wearing the Republic insignia.

There absolutely were, quite a large number actually. Hundreds of independent planetary defense forces were either aided by or more or less assimilated into the GAR. With a few exceptions, generally the further a planet was from the core, the more likely they were to be lacking a permanent clone garrison. The CIS also utilised local defense forces on more developed friendly worlds, but more often employed mercenary groups like the Trandoshans mentioned here. If I'm not mistaken, Geetsly has a few older videos giving a good outline of these forces.

The Force Unleashed has been retconned, but when it was still Canon, Jedi General Rahm Kota actually had a deep distrust of Clones and actually saw them as unfit for combat. Because of this, he recruited his own militia made up of regular volunteers, and as a result survived Order 66. His militia was one of the first organizations to resist the Empire.

That was great! I hadn’t heard about the Trandoshans siding with the Separatists like that but it ties-in with the Republic Commando storyline perfectly (there needs to be a sequel! Imperial Commandos!). What was Trandosha’s standing planetary defense force like? Would it have been enough to let them go to war openly with the droids supplementing their forces? Also what would their training have been like? Is that where most of the mercenaries and elites got their training?

Was I afraid of trandoshans in RC? No the level atmosphere terrified but the trandoshans were a welcome addition when showed up and destroyed the atmosphere I was oh thank God just a Shotgun carry lizard person (I wasn't very knowledgeable about star wars at that time so didn't even know the names) (I also thought I had to fight and kill every super battledroid in the factory level on Genoisa, ran out of ammo 3/4 of the way through and had to melee the rest of the level now that's was tough)

Arguably a trend ocean bounty on her such as the likes of boosk would arguably give any clone a run for their money and their lives. But in terms of fear I fear no man nor beast but in Republic commando the trend oceans were definitely a very very strange and unforeseen adversary. I enjoyed the challenge that they gave me the rush of my visor going from green to Red in just a matter of seconds not realizing that by the time I was already killing one one was behind me and finishing off my squad before I was the only one left. Traditions are dangerous this is true but you fear them and you have already lost the battle. 💯

My biggest problem with the trandoahans in the clone wars is they’re always shown as just so bloodthirsty as to be stupid about it. Some like Bosk are arguably smarter but even then most of them are just frontline fighters or cowards who lose the moment they have a real enemy. Not saying they aren’t good in the lore just that the show didn’t do them justice which is a shame. Though we also don’t usually see anyone as skilled as a commando anyways so it would be difficult to appreciate I guess.
