A superb pack.Do not worry in regard to the Locomotive and coaches not matching in colour.# The 5 non streamlined Coronations 6230-6234 were given a special livery of Crimson Lake with Vermillion and Gold lining and lettering.The LMS coaches were painted in the standard maroon with black and gold lining.

Nice review. I think the reason for the wiring connection between the tender and loco is that there is no room for a DCC chip in the loco. The tender would also house the speaker for the sound version, hence the connection.

The white plug with its thin wire is there because the dcc socket is in the tender.

hoping to get this train pack, some dapol stanier coaches, the dynamis controller & a sound chip plus speaker for the locomotive for my birthday :3. The good thing about my birthday is, it's next month.

Pity about the colour mismatch, something that should surely not happen. Oddly enough I also collected those insight magazines and only recently consigned them to the recycle bin.

Well, to be honest in reality locomotives and coaches were painted at different times. Red colors fade considerably in the sun over time, not to mention coaches tended to be in the sun all of the time whereas express locomotives spent much of their time in a roundhouse out of the sun. In this case with the model, the Chinese manufacturer mix some paint for a formula one day to paint the locomotive and tender, and another day, possibly months apart, for the coaches. And there is a good possibility not at the same factory. Never assume otherwise...

Great video ,one thing the LMS Duchess is not the most powerful passenger loco in Britain altho that is what most people believe, the most powerful express passenger locomotives in britain were the GWR Kings most people don't believe it ,but it is true!

When locos and carriages are built and painted at two different sites most likely with different paint manufacturers, getting exact matches is difficult. Don't assume they are built at the same factory with the same name paints. With an eye for digital sound with locos lately, the easy solution for wiring match up is with a digital plug. Don't assume the loco and its tender are built at the same site too. The current rage is sound, there simply isn't much room in the loco for a speaker along with another decoder. Welcome to the digital age.
