Keep in mind, plastic gear box will not hold out for long, you're gonna break your gearbox...the max spring load is 1.2 for plastic, for nylon 1.3-1.4, and metal depend on its material, for cast iron it can take up to 1.5, but stainless steel will go up till 1.8 spring...

i think cylider volume is also a important factor contribute to a better blaster. For example, i just made my own gorkey mp5 a week before. At the beginning, i used the full-volume cylider that j8 gearbox comes with. I shot it with hop up attatched at 7m and the circle of the gel landed was approxiamtely 20cm(h) by 15cm(w). Then i switched to 75% and cut few teeth of the that compression thingy (sry i donno what its called) to make it like 60% of the original volume. After that, danm the spread was way much better and it definitely went to below 10cm by 10cm at 7m

no, you can cheekily get airsoft guns too aus, i have a few from low price/fps to high grade/high fps.. and once you have them upgrade parts are a piece of piss to order hey.. qulity BB's i find are not so easy to find but there are good ones available if you use same process mentioned below (25bucks for 2000pcs 0.20gm-0.25gm-0.28gm 6mm hard bbs is what i use and search for) just have to know where and how to do so.. i use ebay by finding what pistols/AR's i want google it look for ebay link, then if it ships worldwide and doesnt come up with BS biosecurity warning.. i order it. but can only get a few styles/brands from Korea and japan (japan has best brand IMO which is Tokyo Marui super affordable and high quality m8) ALSO on when on payment screen where you can add a message to seller b4 ordering ask for the CUSTOMS ITEM DESCRIPTION TO BE TOY AND TOY ONLY... most sellers kindly oblige you didnt hear this from me _cough couch wink wink_ good luck if you try bud (start with cheaper stuff 1st so you dont lose out hey)

Airsoft is a joke here, they recently made it legal in SA yet the only vendor is some dodgy cunt at the Adelaide brickworks who sells shitty nerfed down pistols for $200 that are sold for $20 in Europe and the USA. the requirements for Airsoft are so shit it's not even worth the bother, same with paintballing. Can't use legally outside of an official course and can't even buy your own ammo, no wonder gel blasters are getting popular.

the Balistic fps is directly related to the velocity of the ball. the lighter the ball for a given fps the less distance it will travel and the less impact for any given distance.

Putting 11.1volts battery will make the nylon gears wear off. 7.4volts is good for nylon gears and for the stock spring. If you want 11.1volts battery to fit in better upgrade the nylon gears to metal gears including the cylinder.

You should try putting a v3 airsoft gearbox in there and swap the cylinder, cylinder head, tappet plate, and nozzle. That way you at least have metal internals. Looks like the gearbox in there is exactly v3.

The number is followed by FPS ,feet per second. Eg. 163 feet per second is the speed the round travels. The higher the number the harder it leaves the barrel and the longer it will fly.

the ACR J10 shoots the same stock as the scar does upgraded, so instead of buying the Scar you could buy an ACR, and all you gotta do is a spring and o ring and your good to go (and 11v battery)

ok as an airsoft player there are so many upgrades i would recomend to you like the gears get some steel ones will last longer and give better performance go for shs get a dual sector gear for eve higher rate of fire put an aimtop F430 motor in get a steel piston in there or lunger how you call it and oh get a steel or cnc made aluminum gearbox and put a mosfet in there to prevent gearjams also increas the performance plus shim them and they will be less noisy

the thing measures FPS or feet per second you want to get one above atleast 200fps most 11vs will make go upto 230-250 FPS and maybe higher but rare for gel blaster to be effective at that point u need some real thick gel balls otherwise the explode mid air

the gen8 is a great starting point, and in my opinion has many advantages over gen9 the M4A1 onr the SCAR V2 are great starters blasters

pretty much took it and made it into paintball velocity. the shells are only gelatin based. but do you get better range out of these mods. paintball is generally 150 ft. 46 m according to google. but thats even if ot breaks.

Some gears can handle the bigger battery and other gear boxes don't like the 11.1v battery. I was watching I don't know who, Novice Driver or Low Guido..., were testing a unit (unsure which one) and talking about a blaster that needed a gear box upgrade if the more powerful battery was going to be installed. If I remember which one Ill try and find this festure and let you know.

Why change the barrell? Nylon or acyrlic should have far less friction than stainless. I just bought some vector gun thing, seems good out of the box. I think fundamentally the design is just bad inside. Ive had airrifles, bb guns etc etc before and i think the best mod would be to turn it into an air rifle.

Actually an 11.1v can strip the gears after awhile. Most switch to metal gears for an 11.1v but to each their own.

Could anyone advise, I made just a spring upgrade, as the easiest one (not on SCAR, but G306T (black) with a spare spring came with the blaster). Sometime after that it just stopped firing, I hear a click in any mode (single-auto), but nothing happens. Tried different batteries. Not sure where to check when I try disassembling it again. Could that be motor is burnt? Or anything else.

Basically these blasters purposely came with an undersized O ring that didn't seal so that they would be weaker for the toy market. But could be made fairly serious fairly easily.

@@endlesswarable the unequal springs generally have a softer section and a harder section so the initial take up is soft and then it gets hard. I think it is supposed to be easier on the gearbox. But as far as FPS goes it all depends on the spring. Technically an equal m100 should be the same FPS as an unequal m100.

Just a question in general, wouldn't smaller length barrel blasters work better with range simply because it reduces barrel drag, slowing down the gel balls themselves? Just ordered my first blaster, the AKS-74u. Gonna do some testing & some modding, keeping the stock firing rate not wear the insides & not waste gel balls.

I run them only when it is required. So far I have only had 2 blasters that require deans. And why is it that the airsoft/blaster community insists on deans when everyone else in the world runs XT60? Seriously I love Deans connections I use them on all my skateboards that pull 60A+ just not necessary on these little low current toys.

Your right but I do prefer them over the tiny pins that the original JST connections provide. The Tplugs are abit better for current when you use high discharge batteries and bigger motors, I’ve found that the higher the battery current I use including 14v I’ve had to deans connect them as the JST connection just chokes out the power way to much :)

A lot of blasters are just like that. Unless the motor has active braking it can still continue to turn after you release the trigger. Especially if you have a fast motor or higher voltage battery
