Oh very neat. After the first pass, the molding paste is contributing color as well as texture. Sort of like a built-in ghost print. Very complex subtle combinations possible. Or real mud if you aren't thinking about the color combos! Excellent suggestions. Good video.

what a cool idea although I think I'll try it with my old gel press as I'm a bit concerned that the dry modeling paste might leave bits in the gel plate. Anxious to try this though.

Do you have to do the texture on a canvas board or can it be done on mount board for example? Great idea by the way

Does it have to be Golden molding paste? I have Liquitex modeling paste--isn't that basically the same thing?

yup Golden and liquitex are just brand names

Is it easy to clean the texture plate?

doesn't have to be Golden. spackle will work too and that goop to fill holes in the wall "Wall Patch" or DIY TEXTURE PASTE/MEDIUM RECIPE 1/2 cup Baking Soda 2 Tablespoons white school glue 1-2 Tablespoons White Acrylic Paint (some water may be necessary) cover with plasitc wrap if it does not fill the storage container.
