I love the layers and how each layer adds different interest! I don't care if you play music or don't play it!!! If you sniff of not!!! (Although I do care if you are struggling with allergies!) I just love that you give so much of yourself to your art!!!! And you are sharing it with others!!!! SO GLAD to have found you on here and now on Patreon too! Might you have ever been a teacher? I was (am) and your teaching style reminds me of my own. You explain how and why you do steps, point out the end product that was relayed to the viewer in the beginning, i.e., expected results. The sheer opacity was predicted as demonstration began (and throughout), followed by the results coming in as expected. Thanks! I sure appreciate that you still do regular clips here on KZbin.

I was excited before but I’m really blown away now! I love watercolor and paint with them 90% of the time. It’s so amazing what you were able to do with so little watercolor! Your cards are gorgeous! Have you tried using your favorite 100% cotton paper with this technique? I have tomoe River paper that I’m going to try this with. While I’m waiting for my Martha Steward champagne paint to come do you think buff titanium will be ok for the first layer? Thanks so much for this inspiring video!

As I understand it, we are going to be adding words (phrases?) with a common thread...to make an alternative book.
@RobynMcClendon5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ellen, great question as a mixed media book artist, I can make just about anything into an artist book..lol So it occurred to me when I would come across rolodex's at thrift stores, certainly they must have a use and then it hit me to create a book structure. We are gelli painting the front and backs of all the cards and then we will add text. the text can represent anything, a favorite poem, a short story, quotes or strings of thoughts This projects represents and opportunity to upcycle a common product that has fallen out of use and turn it into a inspiring work of art. Thanks for asking :)

Soooo, I just bought 56 tubes of Golden heavy body acrylic.... how do you feel about using it on the Gelli plate ?
@RobynMcClendon5 жыл бұрын
The heavy body Golden paints are wonderful and I've used for years in many mixed media projects. They are a little challenging on the Gelli plate because they are so thick. However that said, if you mixed them with an extender to thin them out then they work much better. I like the Golden fluid acrylics for gelli printing best. Thx for joining me today :)

Hi Robyn, Wonderful, beautiful, inspiring work, as in each one of your videos. I previously mentioned the music, nothing to do with the choice....I'm deaf in one ear and I suffer with tinnitus!! I can only listen to one sound at a time, that was the problem. Sorry to go into personal stuff but it wasn't a complaint..I just want to hear every word you say!! X

Yes thank you I do use our local honey and it is helpful, my allergies are very intermittent here in the southwest. I'm generally fine but we can get a really bad dusts storm and then your suffering for days and then it stops. Just crazy! I appreciate your suggestion and hanging out here with me :)

You really know what you're doing, so gorgeous yet again. Music is difficult because there are so many different likes and dislikes with music. One can never get it right for everyone. I don't mind either way, in fact if you put music that you like, I am happy to hear it because it's part of getting to know you better. I follow a lady in the bookmaking world, and that is quite a fiddly thing to try and follow as a beginner, sewing a book up and stuff. Unfortunately she puts really annoying music in the background and that makes it much more difficult to follow her otherwise excellent instructions. Anyway, that's certainly not the case with you here.

Robyn & All: I don't know if anyone saw my note on Patreon, but Martha Stewart has apparently discontinued Champagne Gold :-( They now make a color called Champagne that can make a similar color when mixed with their Gold, but it's an extra step. So if you're a fan of Champagne Gold and see some on a store shelf, snatch up all you can!
