To those wondering about the ending: The Radiance is the original God and creator of bugkind, though at the price of keeping everyone locked in a hive mind and primitive. The King sealed it away and gave everyone free will and the ability to evolve. The Radiance didn't take kindly to that, and created the Plague (that orange crap on everyone). In return, the King created the Hollow Knights from the Void to act as living containment units for the Plague; in the normal ending, you fulfill that roll when you defeat the old Hollow Knight. In the true ending, you confront The Radiance itself; those black ghosts are the previous Hollow Knights, and at the end, you sacrifice your individuality and become part of the Void to kill The Radiance for good, thus ending the plague.

Basically we are created by the Void to sacrifice ourselfs like the "Hollow Knight" did long time ago to seal the Wyrm. The Radiance and Wyrm possibly aren't the same thing as Radiance is the god and Wyrm is powerful as a god. It seems like Wyrm's plague and Radiance are working together on getting out of the seal. Oh and Wyrm is dead it's his corpse that started the infection. The king not only sealed Radiance but Wyrm aswell.

I heard the Mantis Lords are female, so in addition to Hornet, the Mantis Lords are very much feminism done right: equal bosses, not too strong but not too weak, and when you beat them, they know that's because you won fair and square, so they offer respect. The Traitor Lord is their brother, and from what I heard, the Grey Mourner's lover was the Traitor Lord's daughter. Gotta love the complicated family tree these Mantis leaders have..
