I never knew they had to be heated. I looooove tanzanites in their purple blue color, but wow the unheated one almost looked like an Alexandrite with it's multi colors. Just really beautiful. I would love to have one like that unheated.

The reason the heated color was so amazing to everyone was that there really wasn’t a colored stone in that range (deep periwinkle or whatever you want to call it) before tanzanite hit the market. Tanzanite cornered the market for that color and everyone went wild- it was super fun, I remember the year it hit.

STUNNING! I loved the Tanzanite before the heating. You are truly blessed with a talent... to take a stone and turn it into a breathtaking gemstone. My birthstone is diamond, but I have always preferred color gems. If I lived in your state I would visit your store monthly to hopefully buy and most of all to see all the beauty you bring to the world. I know I can visit the site, but actually seeing the gemstones in real life is a real pleasure for me.

Sapphire and more than half of all gems are heated to alter color. Many sapphires are grey cloudy unsalable pebbles that once heated turn clear and blue. These are known in Sri Lanka as geuda. The brown unheated tanzanite is attractive but that market is not there for $4000 brown zoisite.

Although you won't get a natural Tanzanite the colour of the treated ones. The natural stones are of very different colours. Personally, I love the beauty of the natural stones & can't understand why they are, for the majority, treated. When you see the natural stones with the spectacular colours they can show I find it hard to believe that others don't see this beauty too. If you look up the website for tanzanitejewelrydesigns.com under loose stones you'll see a stunning natural, a purple emerald cut natural & even a brilliant yellow natural. Why these are viewed as more undesirable is beyond me.
@Hstat910

Me neither its also an exceptionally rare stone
@krisushi1
@krisushi1 5 жыл бұрын
@@Hstat910 Yes, it is rare but still quite available for now. There are numerous other gems that also are only scorced from one mine or small area. There are plenty of gems that will cost much more than diamonds and by a considerable amount too, except for the fancy coloured in certain cases. This is why I tend to veer towards coloured gems as you know that you'll be wearing something different to everyone else. A majority of the public still are unaware of Tanzanite or are shocked to learn that Amethysts come in other colours than just purple. I do advise though that if you are building up a collection of gems either to wear or collect loose stones to buy only what appeals to you as there is no point investing so much in a rare stone that you don't really like. Unless you have plenty of cash to work with, I suggest sticking to the gems that really appeal to you. I haven't found my money tree yet but have managed to build up quite a collection and still going but only by paying off pieces over time and never use a credit card. I already have my Tanzanites which I purchased about three years ago in a suite of earrings, pendant and ring although the colour of mine are of the lighter violet/blue which I personally prefer to the quite dark ones. I do hope to one day purchase a natural stone made by Mother Nature and unadulterated by human hands in regards to colour. Good luck if you decide to collect, you'll be surprised at just how many different gems are available and the massive variety of colours.
