My favourite point is the one about paying everything first and then deciding if your budget has the capacity for shopping. If you have loans, credit card bills etc you shouldn't be shopping; you're just digging yourself into a deeper hole. It's so easy to do when everything is accessible with a few clicks and you don't have a realistic perspective of how much you are spending.

A tip I have is to go into the dressing room & try on every single item you’re considering purchasing because even though you know your size it’s not the same as trying it on & seeing how the clothes lay on your body.

heavy on the wishlists! as a thrifter, they helped me stop buying useless junk i've also made a rule that whenever i go thrifting, i donate things i don't wear. i think our generation is leaning towards hoarding tendencies with all the overconsumption. my grandpa was a hoarder and it is scary! glad influencers like you are promoting safe habits ❤

Just came across this video and it was a good reminder to not get sucked into buying things that aren't for my body type - though I admire other's aesthetics, I have come into the awareness that I can admire things but I don't have to own them if the aesthetic doesn't match me. What you said around 4:20 is very true and I use this even with makeup/beauty. Using seasonal color analysis has helped a lot.

You should definitely do it! I think the video would be amazing. It took me a long time for me to figure out my type because videos always made it seem that hair and eye color mattered a lot when figuring it out, but that's actually secondary according to some. So I went from thinking I was neutral, leaning warm to neutral, leaning slightly cool. My makeup looks 10x better and I don't get influenced as much on makeup. I just get inspired, or I get more discerning on what colors to pick. Even if they're not my exact type, I borrow from the whole season or sneak options from the other cool season. It's like I've saved more money but have gotten to know myself, and love myself.@@Gemaryermus

One thing I do if I want something but know I don't need it and can't justify buying it for myself is simply asking for it as a gift for my birthday or xmas. I only do this for close friends and family where I have a general sense for what their budget for a gift would be for me so I don't ask for something too expensive for their budget. It's been great because it eliminates the gifting anxiety a lot of people might have and I also know I will love what I get!
