As someone who has worked in various health care settings, some including exposure to traumatic injuries, it takes a lot to unsettle me. The first seasons didn't really phase me. But the clip with Barry Johnson with advanced infection made me legitimately uncomfortable.

My personal theory is that the Mockery humans (red tendons shaped like a human) are used like permanent audio lures. Barry kept repeating everything the camp members said, but slowed and slurred. Maybe it's because Barry just became an audio lure. Think of it like using a fishing rod. The woodcrawlers using fake people is like jumping into a body of water to catch a fish. Yes, it works, but it could be overkill or obvious. But using a Mockery human is like casting a line with bread on the hook. It's slower, but sometimes you just have to wait for the fish to come to you.

My theory about Barry's speech is that the team is actually communicating with either the Iris or the Fake Person incubating inside of Barry. It is repeating our words back to us, trying to learn to mimic human speech to better lure humans towards it.

i think the photos at the end of "wretched hands' were from the aftermath of the 1985 christmas eve party video. according to the GHE wiki, the only survivors of the attack were jack dean and barry johnson, who i also think took the photos of the monster for the WDH, after he was infected. as thelapisfreak pointed out with the "25 mins before first attack', i believe the bear monster popped up to attack the christmas party. as for how mary became part of the monster, i think she was still human while taking video footage of outdoor shots for the christmas video, however in the christmas video, we can hear an explosion, which was shown in "wretched hands'. the bear monster, "the wretch', attacked mary dean when she went to investigate and infected and intergrated her into it. you can even hear her voice during the christmas eve party video in slurred reverse, which she says "jack, it's out here! let me in!". the wretch was confirmed to be the bear that glenn arthur sacrificed to the iris at the end of the video. edit: i forgot to mention that wretched hands was originally uploaded last year on december 24th(the same day that christmas letter was uploaded on the community page). edit 2: i also forgot to mention that in lethal omen, you can find two newspapers near the archery area, one saying aboult a missing person named jordan barnes, who is one of many missing person cases as of late. while the other newspaper mentions the lights in the sky event being abruptly cancelled and that campgoers are enraged and are demanding an explanation. also in one of the camper houses, if you shoot one of the tvs, you can get a secret sleep image visualiser from a man named adam levitch, who was one of the moonlight acres men's club supervisor. edit 3: beau nadler at 27:21 was confirmed to be the one who snapped the picture of the "the wretch' charging at him, which is seen at the end of the 1985 christmas eve party video. remy abode confirmed it by saying this: "Mf really saw a massive mutated bear running full speed and snapped a photo of it.". edit 5: after shifting tendons, there's a new community post called "𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐍𝐄𝐃"

My working theory right now is that Gemini's just the middleman, and the company has nothing to do with the Iris. They're just as confused as us, posting what were supposed to be genuine tapes to the public then got put through something else and came out completely malformed. Eventually, starting at about Deep Root Disease, they began making tapes specifically with the intention of warning people about the Iris, leaving some videos like Deep Root Disease and Monthly Progress Report undeniably connected to the Iris.

Also my best guess is that many years ago, maybe early 40’s or something, the woodcrawlers were attacking moonlight acre’s as a sort of harvesting spot. In which the well dressed men, who were most likely Woodcrawlers who morphed into a almost perfect human, acted as scouts to see which areas the woodcrawlers can attack. The camp employees began to take notice of this and confronted the men, in which the men, not willing to give up a good harvesting spot, made a deal. The deal seemed to have been something along the lines of “Ok, we’ll still be coming here to feed, but here’s the catch, you have to sacrifice people to us, and we will not attack cabins unless they answer the door to our knocking, allowing you camp to not risk getting closed down.” In which the owners took the deal, but as time went on, they started to feel guilty for having to sacrifice many people to the Iris, so the owner decided that instead of sacrificing a person, they will instead do a bear that they found. Though as seen in wretched hands, the Iris didn’t take the bear so kindly. Most likely mutating the bear to attack the people who broke the deal, and continued making moonlight acres a harvesting spot. Though it seems the creature itself stopped and I guess hid out in the woods? I’m not so sure. Though as the Iris started to become more evident in its presence, companies like Harbinge went to the camp and used it as a type of study/research into the woodcrawlers, along with the health company(forgot it’s name). Thus leading to shifting tendons. Showing how the camp is aware of the woodcrawlers presence and natures mockery. Most likely forming a type of safe zone that woodcrawlers can’t or find somehow. It isn’t until Barry Johnson’s transformation that he most likely signals the creature their location and begins to attack.

Edit: After watching the whole video I feel like Pagan Valley missed one major factor that would kind of reshape his entire interpretation of these two videos, and that’s the original release date of the Wretched Hands video (Christmas Eve 2021). If he took that into account, I think most of the details in this analysis would be a lot different.

Great analysis video! Gemini Home Entertainment is my favourite analog horror series as well, and I think it's visually the most beautiful out of them, too, with striking nature imagery to accompany the story. The writing and the choice of music are superb. 💗💗💗 With regard to the Nature's Mockery and Barry Johnson, the way "Barry" repeats the interviewer's questions is a type of mockery, too.
