An interesting interpretation I've heard concerning the invading forces from the Iris, is that it could work as a metaphor for humans, whereas we the humans are the animals; the expanding corruption of the nest is industrialization taking over nature, taking away animals' homes ("your home does not belong to you now"), and the woodcrawlers mimicking human speech through their screams for help, is a reference to hunters using animal calls. While I don't think Gemini Home Entertainment is a metaphor in that sense, I think this theory does offer an interesting way to interpret the actions of the creatures, and more importantly, how they see us.
@SoTotallyMe4 жыл бұрын
This is pretty great! Gemini Home Entertainment is pulling so many tropes from H. P. Lovecraft it's quite the beautiful homage. I like to think that if the man, himself, were creating fiction now, instead of his own 1930's, that he would have delivered it in a very similar manner. He would totally be proud. They often say that it's practically impossible to make a film out of a Lovecraft story because his writing style depends so much on the reader being inside his/her own mind that visual storytelling just doesn't come close to capturing the horror Lovecraft is describing. ...welp...I think Gemini Home Entertainment figured it out. Fun stuff!

One of my favorite things about this ARG is that there's more than just one monster at play. I feel like a lot of ARGs just center around one monster, and I don't know how to describe it in words or if it's the same for anyone else but having just one monster just feels less... threatening? I think multiple monsters sort of add to the mystery and threat of the grand scheme of things.
@irisaferg2524 Жыл бұрын
I get that sort of feeling a lot too; for me I think a large part of it is that when there's more monsters it feels more... Realistic, I guess? Like, in real life there are lots of things that can "get" humans, there isn't only one deadly disease or one species of dangerous animal or anything, there's a lot of them. So having multiple monsters or threats seems more realistic to me than there just being, like, one.

The creators ability to leave me in constant fear of a jumpscare, but never doing so always manages to leave me in constant paranoia. That, on top of the imagery and all be it perfect sound design, makes Gemini Home Entertainnent great. I think you're mostly right, but I do disagree on a couple of points: 1) the 'well-dressed men" aren't the skinwalkers, but the Canadian government. They're keeping the camp open to limit outside exposure to the Iris infestation (by providing children so close to the nest in such a remote location, it discourages the skinwalkers from hunting further afield.) 2) I think the drone mining video is actually evidence that the Canadian government is trying to find a way to penetrate the nest and destroy it, under the guise of mining in northern Alberta (where the nest and the camp are located.)
