The most successful clusterbot from the original show! It's kinda nice in the new series that we've had a lot more clusterbots compared to the 4 (5 if you count √3) we had in the original series (Gemini, Black and Blue, Legion and Typhoon Twins)

Whoever decided that clusterbots had to be stuck together at the start and would be out if one half was taken out (2 things that the new series has rightfully changed) effectively limited Gemini's progress, they could have got a awful lot further under the modern rules.

@@mechamax7919 a bit late, and this isn’t from robot wars, but the team that made Tantrum for Battlebots had a dual flipping clusterbot called Insult And Injury before Tantrum (though it sadly never got to fight)

I think when they drafted the rules they grossly overestimated how powerful a clusterbot could be - they likely just saw 2 robots vs 1 and assumed it'd give them a huge advantage, so set about finding ways to limit it.

Blue Thunder That’s because there’s nothing interesting about a box with wheels. It’s pretty boring and uncreative. The way I personally see it is if you had an arena with no walls or obstacles and all it can do is bump into its enemy with no effective weapon like a powerful spinner or a flipper then it’s pretty lame. I can’t stand Duck for the reason it can’t win fights it’s just the other guy loses because it doesn’t do anything.

To be fair, Tornado was a newcomer in series 4 while the Gemini team were already veterans of the two previous series (plus the fact a clusterbot had never been seen on RW before, while we'd already seen plenty of boxes on wheels at this point).

tornado were a boring spoilt brat acting and cheating team, nothing good about the robot or team

Tornado was a symptom of why robot wars fell apart. It played the metagame too hard and showed how boring it could be. It was bots like Gemini that kept people invested in the series and by the 6th or 7th season none of them were viable anymore.

1st View! and i rlly liked this beautiful cluster bot, i dont think anyone has done something worthwhile with cluster bot idea since but then again it kind of is disadvantage (because total weight is the same so each bot is lighter than a full bot and if one of the cluster is immobile i think that counts as out still?)

You have to demobilize more than 60% of a clusterbots weight. So Gemini would probably have gone way further by the new rules.

the front wheels were the LEAST of Team Mace's problems, they should have made a set of stabilizing wheels ON THE BACK so they would not do wheelies so much AND ACTUALLY FLIP OPPONENTS!

In the last bit, that's what they did. They have a rounded off plate back there, but that stopped them from being able to roll back onto their wheels from their rear.
