I'm from the states, but I went to a summer camp at my museum teaching kids about robotics in the 2000s and every day at lunch they put on VHS recordings of Robot Wars. It's been my favorite version of robot combat shows ever since.

I love the fact that the robots themselves don’t look very big when being viewed or spectated in the arena. Nothing special about them, right? *Wrong!* Robots can get preeetty large when compared to actual people! Take *Terrorhurtz* for instance, even if it’s not the biggest, their pneumatic battleaxe looks to be a full arm’s length long! And then there’s the rest of the robot…. Let that sink in.

Honestly, mad respect to Simon and his team for bringing King B back into the wars even though it was a bit of an old bot at this point. Always a pleasure to see the thing fight. May not have been the strongest but so characterful. It was also a nice breath of fresh air in the flipper and spinner copy/paste fest that the RW reboot kinda turned out to be.

I'd have thought modifications would have to still allow robots to actually fit in the pit. Was always an injustice in my eyes

In the many years of Robot Wars, I think no one has had a greater impact (literally) on Robot Wars or rather the Robot Combat industry than HypnoDisc in terms of weapons development as the OG Horizontal Flywheel user. Jonathan Pearce must be totally impressed when he was commentating in Series 3 and witnessing this for the first time. IMO the best robot and most consistently strong robot not to win a title.
