Supernova was another of those well-designed robots that always massively underperformed, it had probably one of the most destructive weapons of the entire of series 1-7, but the rest of the robot was too unreliable, I reckon if they had taken off even a couple of kg of weight from the disc they could have made the body and interior more sturdy, I don't think there are many other robots who damaged themselves quite as much as Supernova did. Also in that world champ final, if they had just left Storm II alone and left them on their side, they would have won that title!

I remember when the final first aired, I was so pissed off that Tornado were basically immobilised by the end, yet still won. You could argue about Tornado's weapons system all day long, but when you compare that fight to the Storm 2 vs Typhoon 2 battle, it shows the double standards of the judges decisions. Tornado were clearly more aggressive and I could argue that it sustained more damage than Razer. But Razer definitely put up a better fight than Typhoon 2.

Ian Lewis I always felt was a bit of a petulant child, often stormed out or evaded the cameras if something didn't go his way, Scott and Blood were both a lot more mature.

Tornado might have gotten a sour reputation after this series, but hey atleast they're not Ian Lewis who refused to acknowledge his own mistakes lol. This robot pretty much refined the ram robot. Not since Roadblock there was a robot that was powerful because of pure power. Tornado versus Gemini is probably the greatest example on how powerful Tornado is.

To add a little bit of context as to what happened with Rapid (and just how dangerous it actually was); Carbide sheared the inner bulkhead of Rapid, which then piecered the batteries. In summery: that was a LiPo fire. Fun fact about those, the smoke is toxic and they're basically impossible to put out until the lithium is all used up. There's a reason LiPo's are covered in warning stickers and have heavy shipping regulations.

Robot Wars is so much better than BattleBots, and this video exemplifies that notion. BB may be more showy and hyped up, but RW always felt far more gladiatorial, you'd never have had a final as hard fought or raw as this one in BB, plus having the house robots adds to that appeal!

Tsunami were the masters of their own demise in that heat final, if they'd just left X-Terminator alone they would have won, because there was no chance they would have been able to self right from that position. X-Terminator were a terrific machine, and did well to get to the final, but they were insanely lucky in that heat final!
