My ONLY advice (because you don't need any, you're doing great) is at some point with 1 empty toolbar spot pick up a hover fish in your hands and behold the cuteness. You wont regret it. Hoverfish are fish around your base that have the 6 little floaty feet that glow yellow. :) you're doing amazing gem! love these streams!

It's a great game ruined all other games for me it's my favorite game now since it released most games are really really grindy this game you can easily play for an hour makes some progress and the upgrades feel impactful. Most other games make you grind for 4 hours to get a small upgrade, this game has this perfect balance of letting progress via story/equipment. Usually game make you grind for hours to get 5% increase in power and almost no story progression.

the mass stalker teeth is an AI glitch speed runners call a "good dog" the stalkers have nest areas they take scrap to and leave it but sometimes the nest is above the sea floor so it falls out of the nest and they pick it back up endlessly and loose teeth every time.

14:00 I've heard this explained by a speedrunner who would need to know how to farm teeth quickly. Stalkers drop teeth after playing with scrap metal. The chance of a tooth drop is 1/4 normally, but there's one scrap-shape that will never drop a tooth. Stalkers will always try to bring the scrap back to the same location, then go look for more. They won't pick up scrap already at the location they chose. Sometimes though, the drop-off location isn't on the ground. This causes the Stalker to pick up and drop the same scrap metal over and over, trying to keep the scrap at the drop-off site that's mid-air (mid-water, I guess). This process drops lots of teeth very quickly. Finding this glitch is basically all luck during a speedrun, so good job Gem on finding a good doggo teeth spot!

A good idea that helped me(i have adhd lol) is to make a project locker. Put everything you have for a project in a locker then go get what you are missing then empty said locker and bam you are organized. It really helped. Thought it might help you since i know how you get scrambled. 😊 Also loving this series. Please never stop it until you beat the game. Ill be sad.

The prawn is actually really freaking fast, once you get the hang of using the grappling hook to accelerate you along the terrain while pulsing the upgraded jump jets to keep floating. I tried measuring it and I think I'm slightly faster than with the seamoth if I do so and you can hover for a long time before your charge runs out this way. Plus it's so tanky and strong, murdered the odd sea dragon and other leviathans here and there :)

Pro-tip: While wall lockers are smaller, they have an integrated label and only require titanium... allowing you to build more, perhaps one (or more) locker for each material!

The prawn suit starts off relatively slow and its lack of thrusters make it hard (potentially near impossible) to extract it from certain deep areas. However, there are a few key upgrades that should be available to you that help with this as you progress, and most people generally agree that the prawn suit is the most superior vehicle in the entire game in terms of versatility. The jump jet upgrade massively improves the thrusters and the grappling arm attachment enables better mobility, especially for getting out of holes (didn't want to say that, but I saw chat already spoiler it). There are 4 arm attachments total, but only 2 are really useful (the other 2 are pretty niche). The 2nd useful one (also spoiled by chat) is the drill arm to harvest large resource nodes (those nodes that said you needed special equipment). As a side bonus, if you bring a repair tool and use it frequently on your prawn suit, it is 100% possible to kill leviathans using the prawn's drill arm if they are in your way too much, though many prefer to use a stasis rifle and thermoblade (saying this simply because you have access to everything except the drill arm, which chat already spoiled). The 2 less useful ones are essentially just a propulsion cannon for your prawn suit (hope that's not spoilery, since you already know a propulsion cannon is) and the torpedo arm you've already discovered. You have access to the only 2 types of torpedoes as well, but they aren't as good for general utility. One does a little bit of damage but realistically not enough to defend yourself against leviathans with (it would take a lot to kill a leviathan, though it is possible), the other just creates a vacuum effect that sucks creatures (including leviathans) into it to help you escape. Hilariously funny to watch, though! A lot of people go ahead and make a second moonpool just so both vehicles can be interacted with and charged simultaneously. Eventually you can interface one vehicle at a time with the cyclops (chat already mentioned this as well).

FYI there's nothing to discover with the thermal vents. They're mostly used as a decent power source for bases using a thermal plant. Sometimes you can find a few limestone and sandstone crops and dead fish, but that's about it.

A sonar module for your seamoth might be fun and useful. You could always make a mini-base when you go to a new area. A simple I-compartment with fixin's would do (hatch, solar panel, fabricator, beacon, storage). Attach a temporary scanner room to see if there are interesting things nearby.

Since crafting is the main thing of this game, I think it needs to be the easiest possible. I'd put the separator in the middle of the main room and do lockers around the walls, and some in the middle back to back. Bioreactor + internal garden is also important to be easily acessible, so you are always checking the power levels, and can eat before leaving the base. Move down the bioreactor to the room with the water filter/modification station and put plants all around it. It will be right beside the entrance and the outside garden. Oh, Gem, please put more entrances! It will make your life so much easier when going to your outside garden.

If you want layers you can build up and add a module above water. You can even build a platform and walk outside, and have some large planters to decorate entrance.

Gem, there's an AMAZING combo on the prawn with the propulsion and the grappling arm (upgrade for the prawn). If you shoot the grappler a little ways ahead of you and hook it on the ground then jump as the grappler is retracting, it will launch the prawn forward at a great speed. Excellent for traversing the terrain. Without that combo the prawn is definitely slow and clunky.

If you love Subnautica and you love the base building in Subnautica, I highly recommend the game Grounded. It's a survival game (that has multiplayer if you wanted to play with friends) where you play as teenagers shrunk down in someone's backyard. It has a more fleshed out base building system, including a coziness meter that rises depending on how many cute decorations you have near you. I can't recommend the game enough for people that like survival games and building, which fits the description of basically all the hermits.

A tip for anyone playing and struggling with crash fish, not a spoiler just a tip: they’re really bad at manoeuvring, so wait until they fly towards you and then swim towards and past them and they won’t be able to turn in time to get you. Only if you got your fast fins or your seaglide though!

There are 4 different grassy plateaus, 5 different kelp forests, with safe shallows winding through them. Outside these starter biomes, there are two mushroom forests, and then the blood kelp has a large island area (which you found) and a smaller one called the blood kelp trench. All other biomes only occur once and are usually very large (to name some you have visited, even though you may not know the names: dunes, mountains, crash site, grand reef, etc). This is why you sometimes feel like you are in a familiar area but can't find what you're looking for. That's why chat talks about beacons so much; without a map (which you can get with addons or look online) your compass, beacons and memory are the only real ways to keep track of important locations.

The hull reinforcement module helps with collision against terrain only, not hostile creatures. It does NOT help the prawn suit, since it doesn't take any damage from collision at all, so it being available to the prawn suit is just an oversight from the devs. Don't waste an upgrade slot on it. It's decent for the seamoth, especially if you run into things often. Running into things DOES include running into fish, so if you were hypothetically running from a leviathan and hit a fish, you'll take less damage from the fish, but if the leviathan catches you it'll still do its full damage to you. Best defense against leviathans for the seamoth is the perimeter defense (the longer you hold the trigger, the farther the blast will reach, tho it also takes more power). Best defense for the prawn suit is getting away or killing the leviathan. Remember to repair.

I know the free standing lockers have more space and in general look better, but I never used them. The quartz was expensive, and better used for other things like the hedonistic amounts of glass you'll want, and the wall mounted lockers allow you to label them, making it much easier to sort and find the materials you're looking for. The space for names are short, so I often just used the elemental symbols or an abbreviation. Definitely the Pearl-approved method. I'd also recommend making some scouting bases, I usually just made two multipurpose rooms stacked, a hatch, and a scanner room. The lower room had a specimen containment unit for fish, with the upper room having a bioreactor to use the scanner. Cheap, easy to build, and can be left until you need them again.

The Stalker Teeth: Stalkers are attracted to metal objects, which is why there's a piece of scrap next to that insane pile of teeth. But, also, you can actually "coax" stalkers into dropping their teeth by giving them metal directly, either dropping scrap from your inventory in front of them... or, as you've so graciously demonstrated for them, giving them a constant supply of camera drones XD Yes, I'm willing to bet, especially with how close that stockpile of teeth is to your base, that it is a direct result of stalkers constantly stealing and destroying your camera drones and you keep making more for them.

You can also "tame" a stalker. I say "tame" in quotes because I don't entirely remember what the purpose of it is. I think if you're just in the Kelp Forest wanting to gather resources (and a LOT of stalker teeth) but you have Stalkers constantly harassing you, you can "feed" it a Peeper. If you have a Peeper and put it in your hotbar - careful not to eat it - you can release it back into the water. If you release it while being chanced by a Stalker, I believe he will just leave you alone for a while. Honestly, I don't fully remember what it does, or again, why it does it; I haven't played Subnautica in a long while, but I remember that being a mechanic and the few times I did it, being left along by it.

For scanning, you can scan everything you interact with (whether it’s directly, like picking up titanium, or indirectly, like getting air from brain coral). So if you want to scan everything, remember to try scanning something before picking it up
