I own a Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken Muzzleloader in .54 cal. (the stock is in maple). It was accurate right out of the box. I was so happy with it that I sent a thank you e-mail to the Pedersoli e-mail link on their website.

Regarding the Gibbs and the Volunteer rifles, Pedersoli NEEDS to be shipping these with a platinum lined nipple as standard. With a steel nipple, these guns will only shoot about 20 to 30 rounds before the nipple is eroded and accuracy becomes horrendous.

Why attend shotshow and advertise if these rifles never go to market...

A fellow that I know up in Roan Mt., Tennessee is shooting a cap lock rifle out to 1,200 yards. He goes all over the world for these matches.

What weight minie ball and powder charge would I need to use the calibrated sights on the 3 band Enfield?

Unfortunately Pedersoli does not use the correct rifling for mini ball. They cut modern rifling that is optimized for round ball. The originals were progressive depth rifling
