Gemmy 2007 Fraidy Cat - Parody of “Somebody’s Watching Me”

I apologize for not posting this morning, I had a video planned but I wasn’t able to finish it quick enough. Also, please excuse the off-centered angle, I filmed this about 20 minutes ago in a rush to have it ready in time lol.
Obtained: eBay for $15 on September 16th, 2021
Repairs: The only issue this had was that one eye light would occasionally flicker. I figured this was an issue with a wire, so I tore the whole thing apart just to find both wires intact. Apparently, the eye lights aren’t even LEDs, they are actual green bulbs that screw into sockets. In my case, one of the bulbs wasn’t making proper contact simply because it wasn’t screwed in all the way. I also learned you do not need to take the whole head off to get into the eyes lol.

i love that thing on so many levels, it's by far one of the most wanted animatronics ever for me. it reminds me of my early years on youtube, when i was a kid and didn't have a channel, just another anonymous spectator.

there was also a time in (probably) 2013 or 14-2017 when i didn't have a channel when i was younger. i did get a channel in september 2017 on my school account and it lasted till 2021 when that shut down because youtube no longer allowed school accounts to be making youtube channels. THEN i made the channel that i currently have in august-september 2021 around the time that happened. i believe someone did archive my old videos though

This one is an absolute classic! I got mine at Savers for $7. Now when I say it was a pain to fix, I truly mean that. The mouth needed a new piece to hold the string to the motor, that was pretty straightforward. The body arching part needed a new rubber belt, had to cut an opening in the plush to access that and stitched it back together afterwards. But Perhaps the most frustrating part was the stopper piece in the neck was somehow missing. Had to fabricate a metal piece into it to prevent the head from turning too far. Long story short, I got it fully working! I am hoping to get the original yellow eyes version, as well as the rare “Stray Cat Strut” variant.

Dang dude… that sounds like a load of fun lol. I think it’s safe to say that all that hard work paid off though, I watched the video you made of him and he works so well! Great job restoring him. Hope you’re able to find the other two variants someday, I recommend checking sites like OfferUp and Facebook Marketplace frequently under generic terms like “Halloween cat” lol. They pop up surprisingly often on there for dirt cheap.
