Hayden is a gem, a true artist. He's one of those musicians who make you stop everything to listen to what he has to say. You can feel every emotion he conveys in his songs. Hayden is undoubtedly my favorite lyricist.

I’m an extremely priviledged young man from an extremely custodial country. Drank some beers to escape my aches a few weeks ago, slipped this guy some money through PayPal. I hope from the bottom of my heart he gets his album done and even though the demons will always be there I know his music is keeping many of us on guard against ours

Andrew Laney yeah, its a shame how us, the northern folks are raised into a toxic culture when it comes to alcohol. I don’t have that many years of experience when it comes to being an adult but every single one of my friends are fiends, none of them have ever questioned the consequences of booze. Whenever I bring up the fact that we just drink every weekend they shrug and think that it’s normal. Just moved away from it all and I’m feeling hopeful about future.

HCD/Hayden has very quickly rose to the top of my fave singer/songwriters to play right now, which says a lot considering 2 months ago I'd not yet heard any of his songs. I love everything he does, except for heroin, which I hope he's managing to stay away from. (I've kicked it twice man, you can kick it too, or sooner or later it'll take you.) anyways, he's great, he's awesome, he's talented, blah blah blah, y'all already know... but, man... That emotion is his voice, and that fucking look he shoots the camera at the very end... Goosebumps. So intense. No words for it. Just raw fucking energy. I hope you can conquer your demons. Music needs you to be part of it for a long, long, long fucking time. You're one of the few real deal artists we've got these days. 🖤

This mans darker music sounds of poetic diary entries of a junkie whos lost and tired of the daily struggle to get well but still holds onto what makes him human; the regret in his voice is an honesty you wouldn't wish upon anyone. His (for the lack of a better word) happier songs can express on times the wonderful high points you have lost in addiction (Sweet Daffodil for example in my opinion) and the tragic hope you can feel in moments of clarity on others. Nicotine and China White has to be one of the best albums I have heard in years. I've been clean eight years as of July 14th this year, it was an uphill battle but very doable. A little luck and a lot of willpower goes a long way. I pray for nothing but peace and prosperity for this man and his, keep working towards a better life and leave a light on for others to find the way brother.

God damn man! U have so much raw emotion that comes thru every line u sing! I fucking LOVE EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER HEARD YOU SING/WRITE! Your lyrics & voice, just strike a chord that I can totally vibe w/! Idk if any other addicts (recovering or current) feel the same, but whenever I walk into a room, a show, whatever, etc, we gravitate towards eachother & that is exactly how ur music is for me! It pulls me in! I typically tend to think that addicts r just more interesting & creative people in general, but idk much. I was so upset b/c I was supposed to go to one of the last shows you & Benjamin Tod were playing, I think in Newport, KY, but it was right @ the beginning of COVID-19, & my husband decided we shouldn't go! Ugh. I hate being responsible & I hate being a grown-up, LOL! Anyway, please, please, pretty please, you both need to play a show again ASAP! I am a nurse & I need a break from this COVID shit!
