His lyrics kept me company when I was strung out and alone, homeless, hopping trains and burning bridges trying to walk on water. Now years into sobriety they continue to keep me. He’ll never know the people he keeps.

I would like to say, more channels could learn from GEMS. I love the fact they add a brief (loosely used sometimes) description. To let you know what's going on with the artist and giving a little bit of backstory. It adds major depth to the already beautifully shot and edited videos, even your location scouting is amazing. I feel like the people on the other side of the camera don't get enough praise on this channel. You guys truly are artists.
@GemsOnVHS5 жыл бұрын
hey thanks for the kind words. we don't really location scout, i think thats why its so good lol. cus its just wherever we happen to be. people put too much work into making it into some kind of music video.. just let the song speak for itself! i try to write a bit too.. maybe we will put out a book one day haha

Your worn beating path pushing counterfeits Whisky stained sheets lined the beds Spark fluorescent lights the true cancer of night Holding clarity like a gun to your head God damn you, you outta heed what I said Cause honey were the kids that god forgot Dead branches swept out in the wake And our torn velvet sky may leave us both blind If we look towards the hope it displays I’ve heard the call of the great after all Though I shivered and steady drawn sights And the breaths that I took well they leave us both shook I know your hearts as crooked as mine God damn you, there ain’t a woman as fine And believe me love, oh its almost good enough Too hide in the scars that tatter your arms they shine like the trophies they are all stars fade cloaks fall from pain and to love is to hate. So, count every footprint that leads back to me Baby trace the jigsaw of our time And the cold that we felt is an ice cube in hell To the warmth when our pieces align I know I fuck up like breathing seems each days a reason To burn every bridge that I patch Gimme one last leap of faith I swear ill turn our page Fold dog ears and swallow the match God damn you, I’m gunna eat what I catch And I don’t know, honey what I don’t know But you’re not the scars that tatter your arms That shine like the trophies they are All stars fade Cloaks fall from pain And to love is to hate Oh, to love is to hate And all meaning I find Is deaf dumb and blind But not you.

I'm moving north to be close to family and possibly better opportunity. A friend of mine is meeting me there for my birthday that weekend and to some degree this resonates to me. We met as broken pieces who fought like hell to make ourselves whole. She has lifted me up as much as I have for her. This song speaks in a much different way than Hayden had referred to, but I'll be god-damned if he doesn't make music that speaks to the soul.
