This is the best gem show video you've done, Cliff. The show itself was very impressive. The displays were very well done, when compared to many shows here in the US. Just to keep my head on straight, I converted the displayed prices to US dollars and found the prices there to be excellent. You "scored" with the stones you displayed in the reveal... My mouth was watering. Thanks much for taking the time to make this video. (Hope to see you in Tucson some day. We just bought a second house there.)

Thanks John. I'm looking forward to a couple of other gems shows early next year as the prices are better. However, I did find Atlantisite which is what I was really after.

@@VintageTimeGems hey! not sure if you'll get this.. but just wondering how you find where gem shows are in Victoria? or Australia even? I am really struggling to find any here.. I usually import from overseas but it becomes expensive with postage haha. Love this video thanks for sharing it!

What a lovely collection of stones and gems at the show. Makes you wonder where they get such a collection

I wonder also where some of the gem dealers get hold of so much of this material also. Usually, they sell very little of it as it's overpriced.

@susanboggs16125 жыл бұрын
@@HeresTomWithTheWeather yes Ed. It's name is the Parma Lapidary Club., but they moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Located in a warehouse district. Anyone can join. We are a fully equip club, with saws,grinders,polishers , soldering room. Even rough rock for purchase. I think the annual fee is 35.00 & 5.oo fee for daily use of the equiptment. If you Google " parma lapidary club" their website should pop up. Your first visit is free for anyone wanting to check it out. And their open workshop hours on listed on the website. Would love to have you join us!! I usually go on Thursday.

Cliff I was wondering if you could one day do a crystal cross resin cut to show all of us if it’s possible. So much lovely minerals that needs to shine mate.

Thanks John. So what is a crystal cross resin cut? I'm not into resin jewellery at all. Is this a crucifix cab disign or faceted?

Cliff I totally enjoyed this video. Those are some very cool purchases. I hope you will share some of the cabs you make. What time of year is the best time to visit your beautiful country? To see a gem show or visit mines and perhaps maybe do just a bit of Rock hounding? Thank you again for sharing all the eye candy at the show. Best regards. Tam
@VintageTimeGems5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tam, I think our Autumn in Australia is the best time of year to visit the southern states. And our winter is best for the top end of Australia (Northern Territory) (Central to North Western Australia and North Queensland).

Those are some great prices on that lapis material! That is my favourite stone to cut and cab. If there is any US lapidary material you would like, I can send some more to you. I have some Bruneau picture jasper, Owyhee picture jasper, orbicular jasper, just a lot of great cabbing material.😁👍 I also have some of the jade from our area which is comparable to Alaska jade.
@VintageTimeGems5 жыл бұрын
I've seen better prices at other shows. You should have received the faceted rutile quarzt? I haven't heard back.
@jasonsummit18855 жыл бұрын
I got it, sorry about not replying. It is awesome, I love it!😁 and for lapis material in the US, it costs about $1-2 USD per gram.😂
@VintageTimeGems5 жыл бұрын
@@jasonsummit1885 Wow. $1 to $2 a gram. That is expensive as most lapis has pyrite in it also.
@VintageTimeGems5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the offer Jason. I think I have enough cab material for a few months. Besides sending stuff from the US to Australia will cost you a fortune. I noticed sending goods from Australia to the US I had to fill several documents. I never had to do that in the past. The US are making it tougher to post to these days. Cheers Cliff.
