Come and join me on tour of gems, fossils and mineral specimens. My name is Cliff and I'm a gem cutter from Australia. In this video I'm off to visit a gem show at Bendigo, Australia. See gems, fossils and minerals that are unique to Australia. There are also gems from other parts of the world. @@HeresTomWithTheWeather yes Ed. It's name is the Parma Lapidary Club., but they moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Located in a warehouse district. Anyone can join. We are a fully equip club, with saws,grinders,polishers , soldering room. Even rough rock for purchase. I think the annual fee is 35.00 & 5.oo fee for daily use of the equiptment. If you Google " parma lapidary club" their website should pop up. Your first visit is free for anyone wanting to check it out. And their open workshop hours on listed on the website. Would love to have you join us!! I usually go on Thursday.

I wonder also where some of the gem dealers get hold of so much of this material also. Usually, they sell very little of it as it's overpriced.

Thanks Myrtha. The Celestine was hard to resist. I wonder if I should have a go at faceting it. It's a very soft gem.

@@VintageTimeGems not being an experienced Jeweler what else could you do with the Celestine ? I don't know , but I would like to see it faceted . You don't need to decide today . Set it aside until you've made your decision . Enjoyed !

Those are some great prices on that lapis material! That is my favourite stone to cut and cab. If there is any US lapidary material you would like, I can send some more to you. I have some Bruneau picture jasper, Owyhee picture jasper, orbicular jasper, just a lot of great cabbing material.😁👍 I also have some of the jade from our area which is comparable to Alaska jade.

I've seen better prices at other shows. You should have received the faceted rutile quarzt? I haven't heard back.

I got it, sorry about not replying. It is awesome, I love it!😁 and for lapis material in the US, it costs about $1-2 USD per gram.😂

@@jasonsummit1885 Wow. $1 to $2 a gram. That is expensive as most lapis has pyrite in it also.

Thanks for the offer Jason. I think I have enough cab material for a few months. Besides sending stuff from the US to Australia will cost you a fortune. I noticed sending goods from Australia to the US I had to fill several documents. I never had to do that in the past. The US are making it tougher to post to these days. Cheers Cliff.

This is the best gem show video you've done, Cliff. The show itself was very impressive. The displays were very well done, when compared to many shows here in the US. Just to keep my head on straight, I converted the displayed prices to US dollars and found the prices there to be excellent. You "scored" with the stones you displayed in the reveal... My mouth was watering. Thanks much for taking the time to make this video. (Hope to see you in Tucson some day. We just bought a second house there.)

Hi Tam, I think our Autumn in Australia is the best time of year to visit the southern states. And our winter is best for the top end of Australia (Northern Territory) (Central to North Western Australia and North Queensland).

greetings from germany to down under as soon as covid is gone to hell i may try doing a gem show in australia i have been an exhibitor at Changsha, China in 2014, so i do not care about travelling around the globe for stones as soonas its a business trip tax write off
