That’s one of the biggest benefits. Gen1 bed is specially susceptible to shaking itself apart. This adds a ton of reinforcement all around

Love the video series! It really gets me inspired to get to finally start building my truck (2013 SCREW Roush). I have so many questions and I try to listen to you as you breakdown the differences between SVC and RPG set ups but I still can’t decide. I went out on Saturday and hit the trails from Hodges to slash X. And for a stock truck it did pretty decent on a tired factory suspension. 30-50mph is most areas and just a handful of bottom outs lol. One day I’ll have to catch up with you to pick your brain on how to build my rig. Cheers! 🍻

The rear lay down spares are where it's at. The extra 200ish pounds in the back helps a lot. Clean layout.
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, all that weight helps balance out the truck big time. It’s also why the jack and power tank are back there and on the passenger side to offset the gas tank

Temecula guy here, can vouch for the drive to ocotillo on the 79 is gorgeous, done it countless times and will continue to do so! Also spotted my trailer & camp @ 22:57 🤣surprised I haven’t seen your truck around town or in the dez! Keepin an eye out, 2014 DIrt King F150 here. ( yes i fell victim to the “long travel” kit) and am suffering the consequences of a lesser performing truck, hey its still fun though! Just a tad more rough ride compared to you haha. Love the Channel and the effort you put into these videos. Keep up the great work!!
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. You probably won’t see my truck much. I only really use it for off-roading. As a daily she’s too wide and the turn radius sucks. So trying to park at the mall for example, Sucks. I can’t even fit in the parking structure there. As for the truck man, as long as your out there playing, it don’t matter what’s under there. At least the dirt king kits add capabilities to you truck. Lots of parts out there are just for looks. You should come out on a run sometime man.

It's funny how you said a few weeks ago when you got the front bumper remade that the old one had too many lights. This week you added 8 lights on the new chase rack. LOL!
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Yep. Because that many lights on the bumper are useless and only for show. They are not good for long distance that low on the truck. anything more than 3 of those lights on the bumper don’t offer any additional light. The top Lights are long range lights. Outside of what the bumper lights can go. If you want to learn a little something check out the zone lighting video from Baja design. They do a good job of explaining different types of light and how their location matters. And those 3 little pods on the bumper put out more light and much wider than the focused lights on the roof

Your gen 1 is nice im happy u went for this build if u don't mind someday u should make a beginner video in how to use the off road mode 4 hi and lo for the gen 1 raptor owners since we new to off road I think u would make a good video over that topic ⚡

@KeepItDirtyOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
A lot of what we do applies across the board. I still want a TRX, but we did cancel our order. It was taking for ever to come in (no eta after 4 months) and we gave up and invested in our Gen1 instead. We still have a few guys that will let us try their offroad, but those in the shop getting upgraded too. So hopefully soon we get to experience that truck

I need that flip down bracket. Might work. The way Doug designed this bumper though. Uses a 3” inch steel tube for bolts. My hitch isn’t flush like yours. That thing is really coming along. Are you going to go tune your rear suspension again after adding your gear?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. First we need to rearch the sagging leaf pack and then we can start planning next steps for tuning.

Awesome set up Helio!! 😎 where would your license plate go though if you have a hitch attached?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
We have a hitch that can clear it. A drop one won’t clear. But this is an off-road truck. We don’t be doing much towing. If we do it will be light. This is our main remover point and I think in flipped down would offer less issues for that
@raulgallardo16593 жыл бұрын
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad that makes sense!
@daleydose68513 жыл бұрын
So had did you finally get it registered? Was it the long tube headers causing issue?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
That causes some delays but the real delay was the DMV. At one point we had to wait 3-4 months just to have Sacramento review the paperwork because the DMV lady did not believe a truck that old could have such low miles 🤦♂️🤦♂️. Then after all that, another few weeks because of a typo with the lien holder. We were missing an S 🤦♂️ and that was enough for them to reject it again. California DMV SUCKS.

Cool vid, did you guys ever upgrade your brakes?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
Not yet. The stock brakes on these trucks are pretty good for offroad use. To stop on trails you need the tires to lock up and the stock brakes can do it no problem. That all being said, the only reason we have not done it, is cost. 6 piston kits can cost upwards of $6000 ++ We are waiting for Wildwood to release their new OE 6 piston kits. Supposed to be half the cost at around $3000 for all 4 corners.

There is lot of improvements over the Gen1 in the new trucks. The main difference is the eletronics. That’s what’s waking the Gen2 less realizable. I don’t really see it going away and only getting worse
