Thanks for sharing your great work. I enjoy these videos very much. May I please suggest you consider using more support under the car. Those jack stands are not the most stable I have seen. Especially around the 18:03 - 18:10, it seems the car moves quite a bit. In other videos I see you work under the car, and even though you have wisely placed the wheels alongside, an extra pair of stands might be a good idea. I know I do when I am under my R53. Good luck with the car. I hope to see many more videos of it.

Power Flex yellow engine mounts are awesome....a little NVH in the first 300 miles or so but does go away. For the bottom mount I injected windshield silicone into the voids only. That particular mount if too rigid can transmit vibrations to the engines oil pan increasing likelihood of early oil pan gasket leakage.

This has made me want to do the same to my mini! Such good content! How much would you charge for a full rebuild like this? The subframes are too nice on the other episode. Were they the r56 rear trailing arms?
@trackdriven3 жыл бұрын
thank you! I'd love to do this for a job but unfortunately this is just my hobby, the subframes were blasted and powdercoated black and the trailing arms were upgraded to the R56 yes

@@trackdriven Shame this isn't your job! I had my card out ready to pay you! Do you mind if I ask how much the powder coating cost you? How did you install the r56 trailing arms, did you use the adapter to keep r53 suspension, what brakes as well? It may be a nice job for me to learn how to do it all. Apologies for all the questions haha !
@trackdriven3 жыл бұрын
@@patherl1 No worries about the questions! I can't remember the exact figure for the powdercoating I think maybe around 200 for all the bits. 2 questions?? What process did you use to get the inlet manifold looking so good, and what make of torque wrench did you use??

I ended up trying some aluminium cleaning chemicals to remove the caked on grime however this proved not very successful, so in the end it was cleaned with a wire brush and then painted silver! The torque wrench is a Draper Expert.
