Lol this was a fun day! If I knew you were chasing me I would have pushed a little harder! The performance pack suspension is extremely capable I wouldn't jump to coilovers until you've mastered the stock suspension first! These cars are extremely capable in their stock forum with just bushings and minor tweaks

I always wondered why the guy jerking the steering wheel so much? It's not even near the limit, especially in the beginning and in traffic. Doesn't it make more sense to just smoothly turn into the corner and then unwind after the apex?

Great watch. I love my sti but I feel like knowing what I know now I feel like Ill have a lot more to gain in terms of development with the brz platform

Thank you so much for your insights into this car! I wanted to ask what and how you would approach progression and modification to this car, from beginner to somewhat competent. I TA my basically stock 2013 86 here in AUS, and on a power focused track 9/10 times so I'm tired of getting my ass handed to me. What should be the progression points I should focus most upon driver wise to extract the most from this car, you touched on just maximizing speed/momentum in every corner, what else does this car demand more of? Second quick one is a modification question, for all intents my car is stock with some PS5s some track pads. What should I look to improve in this car and in what order? I am torn on Headers/tune / coilovers / 200TW tires like the ad09s, im just tired to looking at the back of this one MX5 all day something needs to change lol. Hopefully you have some thoughts having driven many of these it seems! Thank you so much for this video, it was great to see this car getting some love and also hearing how its a great learning tool.

To answer your first question, just trust the car more. Look at your entry, corner and exit speeds and try to achieve a higher average speed throughout the lap. For the second question, I would say the best improvement in terms of what you get for the money would be 200 TW tires. AD09s are great, a lot more longevity compared to most other tires but Nankang CRS is definitely a faster tire. If budget allows, coilovers are a great option too, just do your research to set them up properly and don’t cheap out on those. I wouldn’t bother with headers/tune since it will only get rid of the torque dip which you should be above of at the track. Hope this helps 🙌

currently between an NB and a first gen BRZ whichever one pops up as a better deal first!

We’re using the CP compound from Counter Space Garage 🙌
@lynxis2 ай бұрын
@@trackuse That's interesting to me. I'm also running CSG CP compound at all 4 corners and I quite happy with the modulation. That said, I don't think we're running the exact same setup, I'm running the CSG Brembo BM4 BBK in front with OEM rear and it looks like you're using the OEM Brembo setup?
@trackuse2 ай бұрын
@@lynxis that’s correct, we’re using the oem brembo setup. We’re also using more aggressive rotors from DBA which can kind of cause lack of modulation

Under $10k??? Maybe ones with salvage titles and 150k miles...

What is the problem with salvage titles car?
@dneault3332 ай бұрын
I was offered a 2023, with salvage title, with NO structural damage, for $18k. In Ontario they write off alot of cars without good reason. But I already had 3 podiums with my Audi, but regret not taking it :(

@@warszawarc You can't insure them, can't sell them, can't trust whats been done to them, generally sold and owned by shady people, and shouldn't be allowed to be on the road

100% agree that BRZ 86 is one of the best platforms for driver development, as Bunta's quote "An 86 trains the driver" which holds true. I'd even argue that Gen 1 is better than Gen 2 for that since Gen 2 has more torque and it's less punishing when the driver makes a mistake. If you're committed, have the patience and dedication to learn and become a better driver, there's no better car than a Gen 1 BRZ 86.
