Thank you Dave, as always a useful video. My Brewzille 35L gen 4 arrived yesterday. Did a cleaning session and now waiting for the moment a first brew from this Brewzilla is born.

Thank you Dave. As always, your help is amazing. I also just assembled my Gen 4 yesterday and will run a cleaning cycle and use your profile but adjust to 24 litres in the fermenter as I like fill to a 5 litre mini keg then put the rest in a Corny - doesn’t matter if it’s short. Really looking forward to getting it brewing. I’m always checking your views, reading the books, and really enjoying the all grain brewing.👍

Wow ! ! Not sure I grasped any of that... All your video's are great David but as a newbie to all in one systems and brewing software I have to admit defeat on this one. There seems to be so much that is subjective and reliant on knowing your system, when really, as a newbie, you don't know it, if that makes sense. Love your content and the Facebook group so no doubt it will click in the end.

In any all-in-one systems, mash-tun deadspace is really difficult to calculate without first taking into consideration the amount of deadspace around the circumference of the malt pipe. Using a static number like 2.5 liters will get you somewhat close, but if you're targeting a specific water/grain ratio, this 2.5 will fluctuate as you subtract/add more grain (i.e. the more grain you add, the more deadspace you will have).

Thanks Steve. I guess that it is fair to say that no one profile will work for everyone and there are variations depending on various factors.

Will the rapt system ever have access to a recipes and profiles library or user provided? I know this and the interface is one of the big draws for Grainfather.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
That is the plan, yes.

Hi Dave. I see the boil-off rate is set to 4.5 l / hour in the 35 liters version. I guess this is without the steam condenser or am I wrong? I haven't tested it much, but I've used 2 l / h with the steam condenser.

Great job as always! Thank you for the information. Would there be any Brewzilla 35L Gen 4 vs G40 - S40 at some point?

I see that the profile for Gen 4 has been added to Brewfather, but it has grain absorption of 1.0 and a water/grain ratio of 3.2 - but in your profile you use the values 0.8 / 2.7 respectively (which is default for GF I believe). What numbers did you have most succes with?
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
Hi Espen, I have only tried the profiles as shared but find them to be very accurate.

Hi David, you mentioned the Mash-Tun dead space on the Gen 4 is reduced from the Gen 3 Mash-Tun dead space of 3.5l. In my Gen 3.1.1 Brewzilla it takes 6.75l to reach the bottom of the Malt Pipe - were models over there different to Australia, or an I incorrect in believing the dead space is the total water required to reach the bottom of the Malt Pipe??
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
You are right on what the dead space is. I am unsure of differences though.
@scottn1au2 жыл бұрын
So the Mash tun dead space is only 3.5 L ? Is that to the underside of the maltpipe or the false bottom? I'd like to know how many litres untill my grain is in water.
@DavidHeathHomebrew2 жыл бұрын
It is actually way less than this but these numbers are used to dial in the profile. The grainbasket is very low down.
