Still the same opinion of the vmp hitting harder than the whipple gen 5 ? I can’t decide which route i want to go with my car
@Wilsonandcars2 жыл бұрын
Yes , the 2650 has a harder initial hit vs the Whipple 3.0. I tell everyone running 93 go with VMP. I am currently saving up funding for a 2650 to do some back to back track testing of both blowers

The gen5's look amazing. What pulley combo were you running on your 3.4l setup?

Weird question guys. So I’m stuck between this and the F1A cog unit. For my 03 cobra. Doing my first ever car build ever. So bare with me on the lingo. Super new to the game. cnc the bottom block and the Kellogg crank. Did MMR pistons and rods full ARP hardware. Stage 2 cams. Have DB heads polished and ported did MMR for the chains rocker arms etc. have BBK longs tube headers. getting a T56 magnum with the McLeod twin disk clutch and aluminum flywheel package they have. Want a street car that is fast. What would be my better option? Want to push 1000hp on pump gas.
@Wilsonandcars4 жыл бұрын
1000hp on a 4.6 with pump gas will be a far stretch unless your talking pump E85. You could probably do 680-750 on pump 93 and torco with a gen5 whipple with correct stuff. The f1A if it’s street driven I’d stay away from cog setup, but you could probably squeeze a little more power out of the f1A on 93 due to the way the blower delivers power. But 1000 on a 4.6 on 93 I’m not sure can be done the fuel is just limited, now on a gt500 where the heads are better and the bore size is bigger you could probably pull it off or close to it. But I prefer a PD blower ( whipple) because of the instant torque and power especially on a street car.
@jeffreyabarca14464 жыл бұрын
Wilsonandcars question. I know it’s a hard one to answer each car is different and what not. Say I ran e85 and went with the whipple gen 5 did everything I have to do. To reach that 1000hp mark. What would win in a race the Procharger F1A same set up for reach the 1000hp or the whipple 1000hp?
@jeffreyabarca14464 жыл бұрын
Wilsonandcars and what would be a safer thing for the motor the Procharger or the whipple. Just don’t want to have a ticking time bomb lol. Thanks for the help really appreciate it
@Wilsonandcars4 жыл бұрын
I’d say the whipple would probably be fast unless you did a crazy procharger setup. They both are pretty even, the whipple will be easier to swap belts on and such.

My cobra ran 750 on a Gen 1 Whipple. I’m actually going to upgrade to this. How much HP alone will I get from this blower? Will it be able to hit 1000 rwhp?

People have hit 1000whp on E85 or race gas.

I’ve seen good results from other GEN5 builds and it was far more impressive then the current gen3 VMP. But VMP has the gen3R coming so I bet it closes the gap. On the cobra platform, other stuff the gen3R and whipple gen5s are fairly close in power.
@jz28h4 жыл бұрын
If or when the VMP gen3 r for the cobra comes out. Shouldn’t it just by history have more tq then the whipple? And we’ve already seen the temp difference over pulls. Question now is when is VMP going to drop it. Because they’re losing potential sales.
@jrjhanson4 жыл бұрын
@@jz28h Hey man, you said "we've already seen the temp difference over pulls," could you explain what that temp difference was and which unit ran cooler? Between the whipple gen5 and the vmp gen3r, is one known to have significantly lower IAT temps/cooler temps after pulls?
@jz28h3 жыл бұрын
@@jrjhanson yes there was a test done on back to back hits simulating street racing. It was like pull after pull after pull like 5 consecutive. And I think it was 2 hits in the whipple temps started to rise and the vmp was stable I think within a few temps of the original hit. If I can I’ll post a like for you.
