For Deoxys Speed and Defence, I think Speed is gonna be broken because it can set up dual hazards practically uncontested in the fucking Gholdengo meta. Without Gholdengo it might be acceptable but with Gholdengo it's gonna be absurd. And it also has dual screens which is totally not a bad idea to have on a base 180 speed Pokemon in a meta with so many hyper offensive threats. Deoxys Defence might actually help the metagame with some stability and make defensive teams better able to handle the offensive powercreep, but it might also get pushed over the edge by the ability to tera into a good defensive type like water or fairy.

Mind my rant, I just seen it got banned. Though my point would have stood for however long it was allowed in the tier. So this thing gets a buffed multi scale, a built in expert belt, a mega evolution that puts Regigigas's bulk to shame while gaining even more power than before. While also having a speed tier that at +2 is only slower than scarf base 130 mons. Its safe to say that with this defensive/offensive profile currently in OU, I'm going to avoid the tier till its settled once again. Cause preping for this thing without Excadrill around feels like a nightmare.

And since they'ven't decided on what to do with Terastallization just yet, they won't lay a finger on the matter and forced it up to Ubers instead. Also, that'd count as a complex ban, which the Showdown Staff don't like doing unless absolutely necessary.

Terapagos in the actual game cannot become Stellar Form without Terastalizing (and it CANNOT have a Tera Type that isn't Stellar, so Tera-ing into a different type is not possible), so effectively such a clause would read "Terapagos cannot Terastalize."

This is a really cool and powerful Pokémon that unfortunate will suffer the same way that ultra necrozma has faced beyond Gen 7. This new legend may keep its Tera shell to transform once, but if terra isn’t kept in the next Gen, it may lose out on its stellar form. It may still be great without that form, but it’s just seems like this new form is a product of terra that may not be kept for future gens.

Tera Shield is better Multiscale even if you're not hit by multiple hit moves. Multiscale on a supereffective move reduces by 100% the damage. Tera Shield on a supereffective moves reduces the damage from 2x to 0.5x, thus the reduction Is of 150%.

There are situations where Multiscale is better, at least in a vacuum. Tera Shield doesn't protect you from any damage from an already resisted move, but that technically doesn't matter for Terapagos because it's normal type (unless it affects ghost moves?) Also Multiscale works with weakness policy, but Tera Shield doesn't, and Tera Shield can be bypassed with Tinted Lens, but Multiscale can't.

I'm unsure if the Jimothy Cool fandom should have positive feelings toward Terapagos. After all, it is the one that's indirectly responsible for bringing Iron Mugulis to our timeline.

Is it? It isn't that strong unless the boost from stellar is at least 1.5 for terapagos. Still strong, no doubt, as it really threatens tera mons and switch ins with starstorm, but it is kinda balanced compared to koraidon at least as of now.

Honestly I thought terapagos was pretty underwhelming. like I knew it would get banned and pretty fast, but I figured people thinking it would be the next calyrex or pre nerf Zacian were just straight up wrong. then again I didn't think ogerpon would be that good so I guess I don't have the best track record. edit: I didn't actually know about tera starstorm or how stellar type worked. now that I do I definitely see why its probs high tier (even in ubers), I still don't think its like the greatest mon to ever exist tho.

I know right. But it' is more broken than Zygarde-Complete with that absurd bulk and click-to-win Tera Starstorm after Stellar Tera. Although in Ubers, we have Ting-Lu and Koraidon who can deal with it as well as Ho-Oh to sponge a hit at least once, but then again, that is just speculation.

Stuff like the main two cover legendaries, absolutely, but Terapagos is really about where I think it should be for something that's supposed to be on cover-legendary level and not just Zapdos-level or something. It's kind of telling that some people actually thought it wouldn't be even this good at first.

I don’t remember this being said specifically in the video (correct me if I’m wrong) and I don’t think the game itself explains this perfectly so just a quick clarification for anyone confused, when using stellar tera your one boosted move per type does keep the boost permanently just wanted to put that out there because it confused me at first

Tera shell is also better in that it nullifies the effect of weaknesses for that first hit. On the normal type terapagos this just means that fighting type attacks do half damage instead of doing neutral damage like they would with multiscale (base * 2* 1/2 = base vs. base * 1/2 = base/2). However, on a Pokémon with more or more significant weaknesses, like Dragonite, this is a much bigger deal. Ice type attacks still do double damage to Dragonite through multiscale (base * 4 * 1/2 = 2base) but with tera shell Dragonite would RESIST the ice type move, having it do 4 TIMES less damage than with multiscale, in addition to halving damage from its rock, fairy and dragon weaknesses compared to multiscale. Imagine this on a Pokémon like Volcarona , you don’t have to worry about getting burned anymore, but now your rock move does 8 TIMES less damage and unlike with tera there isn’t anything to predict, no matter what you click, if it isn’t something that would do 200% neutrally it isn’t going to kill. Next turn they got their game winning boost, but you dealt with the ability, maybe you have priority or a choice scarfer to chip it down. The problem? NOW you have to worry about the tera.
