gen 3 is awesome, but Swampert being immune to Sandstorm chip, being able to Leftovers/Protect stall, and being neutral to all Physical attacks, makes Physical team building annoying. Anything remotely Special Attacking, and Blissey just comes in and rewalls you lol

I gotta say, you could bump gen 9 down. I don't see how tera is much better than gen 7s zmoves. It's an all or nothing strategy pretty much, it has a bit of the flare of dynamax providing counterplay against itself but it's volatile when used defensively and when used offensively as well, just a bit less. But unlike zmoves it doesn't just enhance what already is once it grants what's lacking forever and the one turn defensive suprise helps instant win cons, that have been more and more prevalent ever since gen V gave us shell smash, more than defensive mons that don't want to give up their invaluable complex sets off traits. So it introduces volatility and a gambling aspect but with more devastating effects as you can threaten the same move again and again, tera and zmoves are both self support and team support so I don't like either one, but tera doesn't just disappear and if you bait tera to then play against it you often still end up having to play the game of will my opponent predict or not? And that's only accounting for players using solid consistent tera types that you have to play around, but we've seen plenty of tournament games where players bring cheesy teras on good mons trying to abuse opponents meta knowledge or just making mistakes while building and getting rewarded for it. Placing it at 7 is fine, I think, but the reason I'd evaluate it as "better" than gen 7 isn't the difference between zmoves and tera and more than the heinous combination of a volatile mechanic isn't paired with ludicrous megas anymore. Gen 8 is pretty stable ig, but lots of high value items and moves and sometimes too many things are viable in a generation. Teleport was heinous and ngl chilly reception wouldn't be any better if the power levels weren't so high atm. Chilly at least has the benefit of sparing lower tiers but that isn't an OU argument anymore.

Steel Normal could work as a metal minotaur pokemon

While normal/ice isnt much better defensively, offensively the normal stab can hit water, fire, ice for neutral most of the time since they don't really have many pokemon of those types that are also rock/steel/ghost (but there is some). However if it gets freeze dry it doesnt really matter for water. Still bad typing though

Normal/Steel typing was used by two enemies at Pokestar Studios in Black and White 2. One of them had Volt Absorb which gave it a third immunity.

Gen 6 was very solid, not sure what it’s settled into these days but the modern type chart and weather nerf were sensible changes that sorted out gen 5’s major problems. Megas gave us a naturally fast and aggressive meta but with predictability, it was good quick fun.

I'm happy to say I managed to predict the placements of gens 5, 4, and 3 with perfect accuracy.

I agree with most of your picks, but I’d put USUM at the very bottom. That metagame, as you said, is absolutely stupid in terms of power level. It has some of the most broken pokemon in all of OU history, alongside megas and then also Z movies which often just come down to launching a tactical nuke at the opponent. Gen 8 is a little better than you give it credit for imo. It reached a very nice balance towards the end of its lifecycle. Unfortunately it still has Pex, which is probably my least favorite competitive pokemon of all time.
