That girl pretty much said it “we are superheroes we can do what we want”. That’s homelander thinking. Now sam is looped In because the doctor have been limiting him and holding him captive. Not only that he has been accepted by people who think this way like Rufus and those other kids.

The writing in this show is absolutely phenomenal. All this time in The Boys, we have been looking at supes as the bad guys and our characters as the protagonists. But here since the supes are the protagonists, we are compelled to see Indira as the bad guy, even tho she is doing literally what Butcher wanted to do. She's just a bit too extreme with it. It shows that none of them are fundamentally right as we switched sides when the perspectives swapped.

Andre probably wasn't there as he'd likely stop Cate from killing Shetty. Whether it's convincing her not to or using his powers to just pull the knife from Shettys hands. He would have reasonably either stopped Cate from killing Shetty or joined the "villainous" side with Sam and Cate and I don't think that's where the writers wanted to take his character

We see that most of the group need people to look up to. Sam lost luke but now has Rufus and by extension homelander. Andre has his dad who he is now siding with over the group as he stays by his beside and doesn’t leave. Marie has Victoria and cate did have the dean until she takes he

Andre’s dad is just having a seizure. You can see him start to mess up words and then his arm twitches before everything goes crazy. Plus last episode we learned that the virus stopped Betsy from using her powers.

As if the red ball cap weren’t enough, Rufus’s chant - you will not control us - is suspiciously similar to the chant from the Unite the Right rally: you will not replace us. (Related: surely I’m not the first to notice how similar “Rufus” sounds to “roofie”.)

Oh! I just thought of one more thing: I’m not convinced that Shetty’s death was an illusion, but one point in favor of that theory is that if Marie had been allowed to use her powers, she would’ve immediately “felt” that there was no actual blood for her to control. Just some food for thought.

Am I the only one that thinks Newman is going to die? While it does not affect humans, they never said humans could not carry the virus. And the fact his blood got on her...I feel it transmitted. There is a reason they showed that specifically and the episode opened up with him noting it has to be bodily fluid transmission.

Maybe she'll get it, but with her similar blood powers to Marie she can suppress it somehow. Could lead to an interesting plotline of her fighting against it / using it as a carrier to infect her supe opponents.

Cardoza was a creep and a coward. Not traits you want in a genius scientist. Neuman did both Supes and humans a favor. Sam will have more adventures - I don’t think he’s fully radicalized or anything yet. Rufus cracked me up with his almost-innocent sincere belief in Homelander. It’s clear he’s just spouting talking pts he himself heard, too 😂

This show reminds of the X-men back in the early 2000 movies 1&2. Kate reminds me of Jean Grey. This virus is going straight into The Boys season premiere definitely. Newman will definitely be the villian in this next episode. Homelander will be a target for this virus. The dean and the doctor were doomed to die. I'm wondering if there is a journal that the doctor kept in the woods on a timeline on the virus. His dad definitely had a seizure which could alternate powers. Just like when Jean Grey became phoenix when she was under water for god knows how long. Can't wait to see the last episode. Also Sam will probably self destruct at some point being down in the woods for so long. I almost forgot about Butcher reference reference.

Disagree. If you know anything about TV seasonal story telling and story structure you'll know it wouldn't make sense for them to do that. If it's just another illusion from Cate it makes the story repetitive and doesn't propel the story forward. We've been there done that. We don't need to do it again.

No, I think she instructed Shetty to "stand there and answer questions" (or something to that degree). So, shouting "shut up" won't do anything as it doesn't contradict any previous orders.

I personally feel like Gen V is trying to serve The Boys rather than trying to serve itself. Closest example I can think of is Agents of Shield. They would always look up to and make references to the greater mcu but I never felt like it was at a disservice to the show. For the most part they told their own stories and developed their own characters. We started off with some great character stuff in the first three episodes of Gen V but it just all goes away after that
