Generation X had the best test scores and highest grad rates since the grad class of 69. That is quite an accomplishment. The class that outmaxed the class of 69 was the class of 84.

That was fantastic and just what I needed to hear. It’s been like 10 years of breakneck speed movement hurtling from one external need to another ( even during 2020 ) and now … I’m left with just me trying to figure out what’s next and what do I do when it’s just me. One thing I can take comfort in is 1) I’m not alone in this predicament and 2) I’m GenX : we are tenacious resilient full of ingenuity and willfulness. If something isn’t working we figure out how to make it work or figure something else out - forgot our key, go through the window, break the window , call a buddy whose dad has tools to fix it, need money to fix the window , gather the change from around to house … and do this all before mom gets home … we can do it. Thank you for this it’s a reminder that we can do it and I can do it too.

@@user-en5yf9xu7o well where we cone from we keep the boys and girls separate for certain things. How would you like you 10 year old girl washing her hands in the bathroom and seeing a full grown man pulling up his pants at the urinal. We are more civilized than allowing that. I did a crash in a kroger parking lot. I didn't put my brake on when I parked. My car slowly rolled and hit another car. The guy was blowing his horn to get my attention. My brain was exhausted. I broke down and started crying. No damage to either car. I just started crying because it made me realize how far removed I was from my present self. Things are getting better. I read Psalms alot and I am making a habit of thanking the Lord for my blessings. Psalms 23 and 91 are my go to.

54 and proud to be X gen....I don't agree with everything you said. Buuuut I can say we had it the best compared to other generations. Our great, grandparents and grandparents and parents did the hard stuff from 2 big wars, women's movements, race wars and more. They did the hard stuff and when we came if age, it was the best time cause we had no real worries. We reaped the benefits of learning from the boomers their discipline and work ethic and yet the freedom, of thought, to be ourselves without the controlling nature of the early boomers cause of the peace movements in the 60s and 70s. We didn't like that and don't conform very well. That's the best part. These new generations and wokeness and cancel culture, is history repeating itself from the early boomers. And our wonderful Gen X generation, will not, conform, not ever.... we are the backbone and need to teach these new generations to get it together

There's a reason for that. Boomers are very verbal. They listen, talk, argue, etc. Gen Xers are visual. "Get the picture ? " "What am i looking at ? ". Besides, Gen Xers mostly are used to be alone, and WANT to be left alone. Boomers connect better with Millenials. We Gen Xers will connect better with Gen Z. Hope that helps !

I had no list. There was 1 rule. NEVER BE LATE OR DITCH SCHOOL. If followed... I could Stay up as long as I want. Be out as long as I want Watch anything I wanted. I was unsupervised before and after school. My parents had date night that could last till midnight Eating though was a mess When I was left alone I can eat anything in the house; cooking from 8. Though there were times my mother cooked and she tried to force me to eat things (at the time) I didn't like the taste of. This led to some long waits at the dinning table and me gagging myself. I still can't eat certain foods. Ocra is top of list. Raw tomatoes are another. And if I see the two together....heck no.

We couldn't inheret our parents world because it ended. In everything from marriage economy to entertainment and war our elders failed us. We grew up coming home from school to an empty house.
