#ollie #kickflip #skateboarding #garagegang Always feels amazing to get some good practice in. I'm trying my best to progress to the next benchmark which is a popped and caught kickflip.🤷🏽‍♂️ I did hurt my arm in the process but that's okay. Feeling better so I'll be back at it soon! Get out there and practice you'll be glad you did and it's the only way to get better! Plus a brief history of Rodney Mullen and the kickflip as well as the state of trick tip photography sequence's in Transworld magazine with Jason Lee and his iconic 360 flip in 1989. Actual sequence; • Tre flip Jason Lee 1989
Also another trick invent by Mullen. 😅 🧙🏽‍♂️🛹Get out there and get those reps in! 💪🔐

Thanks all, so grateful for 1,210 subscribers!!🏆🚀 So happy to grow this community even bigger and I love hearing your stories and subscribing to your channels and watching your journeys as well! Keep shredding and stay tuned for more. It's been a long time off the board and I just wanted to share my experience for anyone looking to get back into skateboarding or even if you're new to it. I've missed skateboarding so much and after weight gain among other life issues skating just took a far back seat. Well my friends the time for regret is over because I'm back and loving it. I'm just a little bit older and heavier but with a healthy diet, exercise and skateboarding back in my life the pounds are melting off. (down 50lbs to date of this video!) Flexibility and strength are coming back. Let's connect in the comments! 😊❤️🛹

That’s sick man welcome back! Yeah techniques crucial. For me slappys, nocomplys all came super easy back to me after 13 years off board. It’s like refining the Ollie with my timing and technique I feel is gonna be the baseline for everything I end up branching out into again. Taking it slow not rushing through it is key for me. I don’t know if you remember Kien Lieu “Donger” I’ve been watching his footage as inspiration dude had like a handful of tricks he did extremely well. I’ve decided to adopt the same discipline. ❤️🛹

Lovin these videos bro! You clearly know the "right" way to kickflip, ollieing into it, but I've found it's also the harder/scarier way if you're just learning or coming back from a long break. I would always catch it perfectly with my back foot but struggle to put the front one on. What's helped me with flips as I'm older is to commit to putting both feet on no matter what (duh) but also to flick the front foot out less. I'll basically set up for a kickflip, pop the tail and instigate the flick around the pocket - but then even before it actually breaks contact with the nose, I'll be trying to bring it back to catch the board with both feet. I've found focussing on getting both feet back into position even before fully doing the flick really helps with overcoming chicken foot on any flip trick: start by barely popping them and staying low as possible, maybe even try landing blindside (graphic side up) with both feet on purpose first, and then play with timing and weight shifting to get 'em higher. Looking forward to seeing more of these, man, keep it up!

Really good tips! Thanks man, I have landed the little ones and I’m really just focused on the popped one now. I’d really like that to be the default like it used to be back in the day.❤️🛹

Pretty awesome, man. Going through the same things myself. I’m 49 and been back on a board about 6 months or so. But I was mountain biking and doing bmx for a couple years before this. So I’ve lost most of the weight ( from 315 down to 175ish). It’s fun but certainly not the same as when I was 13-14 years old

Yo east coaster in the house! Eastern exposure 3 is pretty much my favorite video of all time. Met Ricky O. and he was hella cool. Always dug that east coast steez! Man hell yeah I’ll get to work on that video. I really only wear a helmet in unfamiliar territory like transition mostly grew up street skating. I will say this I wear under clothes street pads and I can’t tell you how clutch they’ve been. Saved my ass a bunch of times. That may even deserve a video since I had to try different ones before I landed on my current ones. Thanks for watching and commenting man really appreciate it!❤🛹

48 here I can flip my board and catch it quite consistently might not roll away every time but I have my moments. Im thinking of starting something I'm not sure exactly what but this is my tip for a regular kick flip, put your front foot just below the bolts with as much of your foot on the board as feels comfortable but I recommend as much as possible for the best flick. Second place your back foot in the middle of the tail or tip or what ever but again I recommend the middle. Now finally when you pop I highly recommend you to instead of popping 100 percent vertically pop down and away so your board stays level and close to your back foot when you flick and if you can get the feel for how this allows you to catch the board with your back foot consistently you won't just be kick flipping your kick flips will be dipped

Yeah I hear ya, all of that is true just slightly different nuisances between different styles and techniques. I had to look at my kickflip trick tip from 14 years ago for the actual light bulb 💡 moment. I’ll tag you @ 🛜It’s not so much what I said but it was what my body was doing. Surprise landing a trick is the worst. That’s why you didn’t land it, because you honestly didn’t believe it. You need to KNOW you’re going to do it. Hell yeah brother!!
@scottskateboarding
@scottskateboarding 4 ай бұрын
Not landing tricks is part of the stages of progression. I DID believe I could and for sure can land it. It came down to simple physics I was leaning too far back. Thats why these videos are key for me. I know I need to kick through the nose completely and jump forward. Thanks for watching ❤️🤘

@@scottskateboarding I wasn’t being a dick, to me it looked like you could have landed it a bunch of times. It always happens to me when I have a trick 99% I end up landing and slipping out. Had I just believed it 100% I definitely would have had it. Skateboarding isn’t math.
@scottskateboarding
@scottskateboarding 4 ай бұрын
@@TheVertDeChineOh wow dude I didn’t think you were being a dick at all. Everyone is entitled their opinion especially if it’s presented on a very public platform like KZbin. It’s okay to disagree as well that’s part of having civil discourse and respecting others opinions and being challenged and potentially accepting new ideas. Like I would absolutely argue that skateboarding is very much math. For instance as I make micro adjustments I’m accelerating momentum angle of my feet and speed of approach. These aren’t equations on a chalkboard but it’s definitely happening in the brain on the fly. Trust me it takes a lot more for me to get offended.😂❤
