Ringo's drumming?..... abso-efn-lutely!!!! This song weighs a mega-ton, thanks not only to Ringo's drumming but the way the drums are recorded. Out the Beatles lengthy catalog this is probably in my top 5....... John Lennon at his best as a lyricist. Having been around when this first came out, I've heard it hundreds of times and never tire of it. Just an incredibly unique song in every way and really interesting to see someone hearing it for the first time.

There's no doubt that the Beatles were the greatest rock band of all time. They killed it every way you might want. You want a rocker? Try "Help" or "Revolution" You want a beautiful ballad? Try "And I Love Her" or "Something" You want a perfect pop song? Try "Ticket to Ride" or "Paperback Writer". You want artsy songs? Try "Across the Universe" or "Norwegian Wood". I could go on, but you get the point. Three genius singer-songwriters and an awesome drummer, now that's just too hard to beat, and why they are the GOATS!

It’s best to listen to the song without the video. Just put the headphones on shut your eyes and because that’s the way it was suppose to be experienced. "It’s best to listen to the song without the video" - i couldn't disagree more...i saw this (before ever hearing the song) as a child in the mid 80s on PBS (they were showing Magical Mystery Tour) and the imagery of the video had the song haunting me (in the best way) til i finally saw this again when the Anthology came out in 95. It's really simple (and weird), but a great video!

The Beatles spent 55 hours creating this piece of audio artwork…that’s what it really is. Art for your ears. There are so many layers to this song, you can’t possibly hear it all the first time. It almost requires you to listen to it a few times and just pick out different sounds or instruments each time. John Lennon viewed "Strawberry Fields Forever" as his finest work with the Beatles. And it probably was. Strawberry Field was a garden that John used to play in as a child in Liverpool. After Lennon's murder in New York City, a section of Central Park was named after the song, near where his apartment was. There are always people playing and singing Beatles music at that area in the park, if you ever visit.

Yeah - you need to take numerous listens just concentrating on different elements - like George Martin's strings and brass. Just one listen (at least) simply concentrating on that. Then another listen just concentrating on Ringo's drumming. Then another listening to the keys or John's vocals. There's so much for the ear to analyse.

This one he listened to must be a remaster, as it doesn't have the lowered pitch in one part of the original album version ( the band chose two different sections of different recordings and to put them together, George Martin wanted them to be somewhat in the same key, but the limitation of technology then, the only way to do it was to play the tape slower, which gave it that psychedelic feel in the vocals.

A Day In The Life was a multilevel song taken from several different news stories, starting with a story about he automobile death of Tara Browne, a friend of the band. He was a hereditary member of the House Of Lords. Then there was the story about potholes supposedly being so numerous they could fill the Albert Hall! Being for The Benefit Of Mr.Kite was another song off the same album that Lennon lifted pretty much verbatim from a vintage circus poster he'd found in a shop in London.

The Beatles were under pressure from their record company to release a single because they had adopted a low profile after their final live performance in Candlestick Park. At the time they were working on the ground-breaking "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album and its nature had been kept secret. They chose to realease the double-A single, "Strawberry Fields/ Penny Lane" and blew away the music world! Many people say these songs really should be on Sgt Pepper and it's hard to hear them without thinking about Sgt Pepper, just as it's hard to listen to Sgt Pepper without wondering how they would have included these tracks. Ultimately, I think the Beatles made the right decision in releasing the album and the double-A side in the way they did. It's just that I remember how, as a six year old, I first heard "Penny Lane" when it played over the radio in my aunt's house and all the children froze in the middle of a game to listen. I wonder if Gen-Zers have had similar experiences with nodern music? I hope so.

I think your commentary is great! So keep on doing what you want to do! You will be enriched by every Beatle song you hear (except when Ringo sings! 😊😅😊😅). You know they came out with a new song last year called, NOW AND THEN. John wrote it and sang it while playing piano and recorded it on a cassette tape. After he died, the tape was given to the other 3 Beatles. They worked on it together, but didn't have the technolgy to make it work. Then George died. So Ringo and Paul worked on it last year and finally made it happen. So that one is the last Beatles song. Check it out!.

In Junior HS band class, the teacher was a huge The Beatles fan, and had us practice songs, each semester we would play at the school gatherings. I was a teenager in the 60s and the Beatles were my favorite band. It was really cool listening to them change through the decade. After John Lennon was murdered in NYC in December, 1980 , a 2.5-acre landscaped section in Central Park, New York City was dedicated to his memory. It was named Strawberry Fields. John and his wife Yoko Ono lived next to Central Park and were often seen walking in the city and walking to and from their recording studio. The song “Strawberry Fields Forever” was inspired by Lennon’s childhood memories of playing in the garden of a Salvation Army children’s home called Strawberry Field in Liverpool, England.

Love the show because you don’t talk and interrupt much. Your comments are good. To explain (as an old British person) Strawberry Fields is a park in Liverpool where the Beatles members grew up. It was also LSD (acid) trip in the 60s called Strawberry Fields. So this is a trippy sing. Good luck.

This song is a masterpiece. It works as an acid trip and the video reflects the disjointed feeling the trip produces.

You kind of jumped into the Beatles during their psychedelics phase. I love everything about them but they do go through different phases musically, and I love it all.

Absolutely. As we did growing up, it worth i5 to find the pre60’s stuff, then work your way up through mid to late 60’s and on. Solo careers etc too.

I have just discovered you. First my apologies it took so long. I'm trying to see a lot of reactions and then here you are. Beatles of all the wonderful bands there are they are my favorite. I love their world. I've watched the tim McDonald The System , In The Ghetto. Tom McDonald is what caught my attention with you. Been listening to time for couple years now. He does volumes. I am a 67 year old woman I think you're amazing. Yea strawberry fields is strange. If you looked back at that time period for them it's quite unique. Peace❤❤,

The greatest sing if all time, theres so much going on and its a feast for the ears. especially with headphones on. Yes their catalogue is huge and so varied, its a treasure chest. You should see the rapid progression from their early pop records to psychedelic and rock.

I love your reaction. You’ve got a good feel for this. Remember that back then we did not have a video for our music. We did not have the expectation of a visual link to music. So listen with your ears and not your eyes. Most of these videos for older songs were created later or were matched up with something else. I would just listen to the album cuts by themselves. And as for finding emojis on your phone, that is not the flex you think it is. Even my 89-year-old mother could do it! 😁☀️💕
