To say that police should not be armed does not make one bit of sense. There are not such things as "traffic cops" that would not need to carry guns. If someone gets pulled over on a routine traffic stop and pulls a weapon on the officer, how is he expected to defend himself? Logically, that argument doesn't hold that certain cops shouldn't be armed. If people would just respect the law, these situations would not escalate. Just do what they request and everyone will go on their way. I'm not a huge gun lover, but we need to agree this video needs some more common sense than these "perfect world" ideas that are out of books like "The giver". It's not a perfect world and blaming social institutions for all criminals is not logical. Some people are just bad. I don't like it either, but the facts are the facts. We can never stop all crime no matter how many social changes we make.
