Zoomers really have the widest swing on how much we experienced what the Millenials grew up with. Depending on parents, older siblings, school, and internet access. You can have a zoomer born 2002 not have any idea what a VHS or a Walkman even is. Then have someone who not only experienced the same things as millenials, but also just super knowledgeable on how culture was before we were born, and the first few years after. I have 5 siblings born in the 90s, I haven't met any 22 year old in person who knows or experienced as much as I did. My whole house was a 90s household through and through.
@Ma666ie18 сағат бұрын
Same! I was born in ‘98 but I have 2 siblings born in ‘85 and ‘88. My last boyfriend was my age but the oldest of his siblings, and some of the references I made that he just didn’t get blew my mind. It’s crazy how there can be so much inter-generational overlap in some households and absolutely none in others.

i was born in 2004 and my two older siblings were born in ‘89 and ‘92 and we still have a vcr and dvd player in the family house with at least a dozen crates of movies. even then my parents are still old school so we’re really an 80s household hoarding “vintage” appliances

My primary school installed smartboards in every classroom when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. They worked as intended for like a year, and then the gimmicks and gadgets would stop working, there would be connectivity issues, and the markers disappeared one by one. By the time 7th grade rolled around, they were essentially just fancy, overpriced projector screens that took up permanent space on the blackboards - usually right in the middle, so that any teacher who wanted to write anything up front had to deal with two smaller squares for space (sometimes just one if the blackboard was already small). I did get to experience the overhead projectors with the clear projector sheets during my first two years of school though. I remember finding them fascinating. A happy memory was when we'd been given the task of writing a Halloween-themed story in 2nd grade, and my teacher ended up scanning and printing my silly handwritten story onto those clear sheets to show it and read it aloud to the rest of the class :)

I was also born in 99 and my childhood was mostly pc, due to my moms work we always had a pc at home and internet pretty early. Also my dad used to play starcraft and world of warcraft before we (my brothers and i), were born, so a tech friendly, game friendly family. And most of that childhood was just playing emulators of consoles, we had a thing called mame32 and later NEO-GEO, eventually it was mostly N64 emulator. Honestly, it was a pretty neat childhood, some of my most precious memories are playing bomberman with my older brother, or playing mario party minigames.
