Let's talk about phases and how I have adopted many gender labels over the years. We also get to cover a bit about dysphoria. Let me know what you thought of the video!
I'm hiding this in the description, but today is also my birthday. 💙

As a person who questions his(?) gender, it's refreshing to hear people talk about how many times they flip-flopped and backtracked and whatnot. It makes me feel less alone when I'm trying to figure out what I am.

It's a pretty normal occurrence, to go through many labels and ways to describe your identity. 💙⚡

Hi there. MTF here. I was also raised in the phobic-by-default '90s, and I also didn't have the vocabulary to describe what I was going through until later on. Like you, I didn't get the internet at home until I was, like, 12. Although, even after I did acquire the word "transgender" in my lexicon, it still took another fifteen+ years for me to work through my internalized transphobia. I'm 8 months on HRT now, and I've never been happier. I'm so happy for-and simultaneously so jealous of-the younger generations now who get to grow up with a much higher level of understanding, acceptance, and discussion. It's still far from universal, of course, but their generations (Gen Z and Gen A) experience those to a degree which is certainly higher than 0, which is what we millennials had. If I had even just ONE teacher to tell me, "Hey, so, this is a thing that exists and that some people experience and go through, and it's okay to have these feelings, and you're allowed to feel this way, and it doesn't make you a bad person, and it's perfectly normal and healthy", I would have had a completely different life. Instead, the only information I got, in my teen years when I learned that transhood was a thing, was a bunch of lies. Like, for example, that 99% of people who transition go on to describe it as the biggest mistake of their lives. It's not only patently untrue, but it's the exact opposite of true. But I didn't know that at the time. Like you said, you couldn't just google this stuff back then. There were no support groups, or informational resources, or youtubers (youtube didn't even exist, after all). Honestly, when I talk about it, it makes me feel like such a boomer: "Oh, back in my day, we didn't have all this fancy newfangled technogizmo stuff". lol

I definitely feel the boomer thing. I feel it when I tell people about early internet, when AOL was everything, when I had to get off the computer if my parents needed the phone, that cellphones didn't have internet or even ways to take photos, that Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr and KZbin didn't exist, etc. etc. Back in MY day, we had a computer room, and we all took turns on the family computer. I'm thankful for the resources we have access to nowadays, and there are a LOT out there.

@@StormyTalks Yop! And don't forget needing to ask permission to download something, and then taking twenty minutes to download a couple of megs. Haha! You pretty much summed it all right up. I remember it used to take me, like, two weeks to download an episode of an anime. Wild how far things have come.

Like the new clothes (of the time of the video). The lower voice I believe is the chest voice. Also read the description so Happy birthday for your birthday in this video. Love that I can answer the question of the week in the comments. Okay. So my short(ish) journey Cisgender and heterosexual (also Christian but in no way against the LGBTQ+) > Bisexual > wanting to wear makeup > wearing makeup > questioning wanting to wear women's clothing (as well as males) > questioning my gender > doing some research > discovering many genders and trying to find out where I am if I'm still a cisgender male or not.

I'm 5'1 and have a very skinny build, even though I go to the gym regularly. My voice is high pitched. Should I transition or will I look weird and ugly as a man?
@StormyTalks

Transition because it alleviates dysphoria, not because you'll look good to other people. I can't tell you how you might look. That's all in your genetics and that can be quite variable.

You know dysphoria is greek and latin for bad mood? I havent looked up euphoria yet but im guessing its just the opposite.
@StormyTalks
@StormyTalks 2 ай бұрын
You are correct! Gender euphoria refers to a good feeling when you experience something that reaffirms your gender, whether that's someone using the correct pronouns for you or when you dress in a way that feels more like your gender.

@StormyTalks I am not willing to participate in confused men's need for inclusion where they don't belong. At first I was supposed to prevent dysphoria, which is their fancypantsmcgee way to say sad so it sounds more serious than anyone else can possibly feel. I was not corporative with being a support animal for them but this is an instant hell to the no for fluffing them or providing live entertainment.
