I saw my parents relationship I go through life avoiding a partner who will treat me like that so I found someone who teaching me a lot on the dream I had to have a peaceful and loving family. I told him what is my expectation and he was already open to it as he had his family especially the husband of his aunts were cooking helpful to their wives. I love it now how we do things, if I cook he wash the dishes. He cook on the weekends even though he strow his clothes on the floor I pick it up peaceful because I know he do the chores without me even asking. I was sick once and realized I still do so much around the house so sharing chores doesn't take away anything from you. I laugh the ego part because I've noticing that he has no skill when it comes to the garden and I understand plants because that what I learned growing up so he recently burn the gorgeous plants with a weed chemical he thought it was weed I laugh my lung because he still believes a man should take care of the garden. I will patiently wait for him because I always tell him let me take care of the garden I'm good at it because I love nature and garden as whole. So gender roles thing is for real unlearned the past that is no longer working anymore.

So funny that skit 😂. Poor man got his ego knocked off. We should normalise men being unable to fix things around the house (and women not being able to cook).

I believe gender roles should be discussed as part of expectations for a marriage WHILE DATING! So that we know what we're getting to in a relationship. Sometimes our assumed gender roles don't align with our strengths therefore couples should choose for themselves the lifestyle they want to live!!

The problem starts when you start labeling things and categorizing things. A woman is a nurturer by design, she multiplies, she makes a house a home, that's by design, it comes naturally. A man by design is a provider, a leader, a protector and headman, that's by design. A woman in a normal situation is the primary caregiver of the child, she is the one that nurtures and all instructions of a child should be raised would be communicated by both parents and implemented by both. All these other small things are neither here nor there. But let's not confuse roles that were designed by God Himself. A home is built by both parties, children need both parents, and hence God expects men to be the priest in their homes, that means men also have a duty in the home. In short, those things that have been there by design should not be argued or debated. Marriage should be a partnership between two sane individuals who will understand that in order for the union to work, they both need to step up. If you can help, do so. If you can finance help, then do so, but to categorize and label things will cause problems, as is the case.

He is not crazy. When you grow up in a society where some things are cultural. They mentally program you to be like that. Then you grow up and experience life at your own space without the influence of your background surroundings.... from there, you’ll have a way of your own. Like he said, he had to change his way of doing after seeing his wife under a lot of pressure

@@jaysanelly9562 His mother was not working, made sense because that’s how she contributed to their marriage. His wife works, common sense should be at play here. Otherwise he should have married an unemployed woman if he wanted that sort of setup.

Cooking, cleaning, looking after the kids when she’s tired all those are Love languages. They are called acts of service. “Baby I’m stuck on n17 I have a flat” you rush to change the tire. Love language = acts of service

I think men and women have the same value, but we are not the same, so I prefer having gender roles. If we have to act the same in everything, then I don't see the need of having a man, if I have a man, I must see the difference and the significance of his presence, not like one of my girlfriends.
