Now-a-days , steam turbines have replaced steam engines. In steam turbines less maintenance work and in steam engines more maintenance work. So steam engines have obsoleted now.

So we can cross another one off the list... I wonder how many mills which are still open use the 'old fashioned' steam engines. I haven't been back since 2010 and I don't know anyone else who has done a proper survey.

@@internationalsteam I,I've worked on Impulse and reaction steam turbines of multistages for nearly 25 years , German, American and British made steam turbines. I've maintained and operate it. Steam Engines is an old technology , well before my birth.

@@tahirahmad3005 The last reciprocating mill steam engines were delivered to Java in the 1950s (Madukismo 1956 and Sudhono 1950). The Madukismo engines later went to Rejoagaung but are now out of use. I don't know about the Sudhono engines. Until it closed, the oldest mill engines were at Gondang Baru, there are few left now, but they would be nearly 100 years old,
