Not really. It was Suge's jealousy. Suge looked at Puff as a little brother. He thought Puff was getting to big for his britches and started harassing/bullying him. Suge sent one of his friends from L.A. to Atlanta to harass Puff and yes, Wolf killed him but that was his job, to protect Puff. If Suge would have never sent dude, things may have been different but he was already doing stuff before that. Mob James talked about some of that as well as other places have documented that.
