Sluit ik mij bij aan, geweldig! Deze muziek heeft mij veel gebracht in mijn 85-jarige leven. Als drummer in een kwartet zo’n 45 jaar, als zanger o.a. een CD met het Radio Philharmonic Orkest van de N D R in 1999. En als luisteraar van deze ongekende aanbiedingen van mistermister!

Jij hebt gelijk Wim. We schelen 2 jaar en ben enorm dankbaar dat we deze muziek van jongs af aan hebben mogen mee maken. Tijdens een 11 jaar verblijf in Holland (1970 tot 81) was ik hele goeie vrienden met swing-drummer Wallace (Wally voor my) Bishop die jij ook zal kennen, wij woonden beiden in Soest. En met hem gingen we elke Donderdag avond naar Nick Vollebregt’s Jazz Cafe in Laren. Waar hij mij aan elke Amerikaanse Jazz man voor stelde. De gig werd via de NOS of TROS live uitgezonden met Cees Schrama als de MC. Those were the best of times Wim. Het ga je goed. Hooroo’s & Cheers!

Was very fortunate to attend a live-concert with Gene leading the PM Big Band version in Brisbane, which later changed it’s name to the Concord Big Band (this partly in regard to the strict Oz tobacco advertising laws). This session is a ripper folks with top jazz-men but for me, Gene and Kenny laying down the bluesy/funky/soulful beat to perfection. And listen to George plucking relentlessly on his bass. This a beauty session folks, G’day & Cheers!

I can understand your decision completely. When things become to much you have to look at the best alternatives. Over the years we become jazz friends with a similar (bop/hard-bop) tastes. I’m truly going to miss your kind replies. Therefore it is nice that you still respond with smiles and heart icons and confirm your appreciation with pressing the little thumb icon.
