The children we have great effect on our lives; their health, their happiness and well being. It is very sad what happened to Gene's child and so unnecessary. Quarantine exists for a reason and the woman that broke quarantine did a very bad thing indeed.

That lady should've been permantly quarantined.

Gene didn't blame the woman either. "There was nothing I could do that fan. She didn't know what she was doing to me. But how can you forget something like that? It's always with me." Spoken by the lady herself. A class act all the way.

Oleg Cassini's autocratic way of expressing himself was so repulsive: "I told [her father] 'She's MY wife and she'll do what *I* tell her to do...' " But then, he had a lot of the same arrogance her father had, so I suppose that was a factor in her choice of him as a husband. Her life was such a mixture of fabulous success and bitter misfortune.

Yes -- I've seen Agatha Christie's "The Mirror Crack'd" on TV (with Joan Hickson as Miss Marple), but never realized the plot was based on actual events in Gene Tierney's life. I just looked up the publication date for that particular Christie book -- it was 1962, almost 30 years before Gene Tierney's death, so she must have known about it and she must have been hurt by it. I think it was damned heartless of Agatha Christie to use a tragedy like that for her own purposes.

I have watched this documentary so many times. I still can't believe an adult woman, even in that time, believed nothing devastating would come from escaping quarantine, and coming in contact with another person, with a sickness so very serious. That is why celebrity worship is dangerous. Stay in peace Gene💚

Oh, "The Mirror Cracked from Side to Side...Agatha Christie's novel, where the murderer was an actress whose child became physically and mentally ill because someone gave her the mumps or the measles, something like that when she was pregnant. So the actress killed the woman and Mrs. Marple solved the case.

Did Oleg Cassini take care of their second daughter, Christina?
@kazior65216 жыл бұрын
opelske She died penniless a few years ago from Cancer. Oleg left the majority of his massive estate to his younger widow. He left Christina only a very small amount, which the widow refused to cede to Christina. It was still tied up legally at the time of Christina’s death. Honestly, this lead me to boycott Oleg Cassini products.

Ah yes there in lies the knub of it for this story has the risk of being destroyed in the wrong hands and equally of being made a story of great human endavour and ability to surrmount both mental and emotional misfortune and strife, whilst you would not cast Angelina Jolie,given the correct screen writer,director and Producers an unknown of acting ability would suffice...
